I've been "lurking" on a bunch of the contest blogs for a little while now, thinking someday I would enter one of them... Today is someday!

This card was inspired by Laura's sketch 55 on 2sketches4you. I had fun adapting and working with a sketch, trying my hand at making it my own. I hope I wasn't too liberal in my interpretation of the sketch. All in all, I came up with a card I really like - and that's what matters, right?

Happy Holidays

I just found this card last night as I was cleaning out my studio - It was my Christmas card last year. I try to always save one and not send them all out, but last year I thought I had blown it and sent them all. I was thrilled to find that I still had one left.

Sympathy

It's been my week to make sympathy cards (unfortunately). I've mass produced both of these designs to send to family and friends affected by several deaths that have hit too close to home.

I am happy with the way these have turned out and enjoyed playing with the softer, more muted side of color. I hope they provide a little comfort to those with hurting souls.

Hang In There

This adorable, just for fun-type card was all about the patterned paper. I fell in love with this paper pack, knowing it would make designing fun cards a breeze. Who wouldn't smile getting this cute little guy barely hanging on?

Inaugural Post

Welcome to the first of what will hopefully be many posts to a new blog dedicated to an ever-growing passion of mine.... Handmade cards!

Although I have been a paper crafter for years and years, card making has taken a backseat to many other forms of expression. Only recently have I discovered how satisfying it can be to sit for either a short or extended period of time and create unique and inspiring bits of artistic expression.

So, here's my first post... A card I made this weekend for a friend's birthday. I ended up liking it so much I decided to use part of it for my blog design and header...at least for now.
