CYP - #73 - Delicious Doodles

Over at Craft Your Passion, we have a wonderful sketch challenge going on. It was so fun to work with - go over and check it out!

But even more fun to work with was the wonderful images from our sponsor, Delicious Doodles. I had such a hard time trying to figure out which image to work with. I found image after image that just spoke to me. I ended up picking up this wonderful zebra and foal and immediately decided to put them against a dark sky background. I airbrushed the sky with my Copic's then used the old-toothbrush-flick method to give it a sparked sky. The rest of the card just fell into place thanks to the sketch.

I would love to see what you can design using the sketch. Pop on over and join us!

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Make it Monday - #52 - Link Party

Just Add Ink - #82 - From Your Stash

Paper Crafting Journey - #17 - Anything Goes

CYP - Challenge 72 - They said "WHAT?" - Bugaboo

The challenge over at Craft Your Passion this week is "They Said WHAT?"... Great for those fun humor cards I love so much.

I have to admit that I relate with Stella from Bugaboo, our wonderful sponsor this week. Old, grey, cranky... some days more than others we could be twins! LOL

I colored her with my old, everyday, cheap, dollar store type colored pencils. I was amazed at what kind of detail and shading I could get using them. It turned out kinda fun to play with a new coloring medium and test my abilities.

I would love to see what you can come up with for our challenge at Craft Your Passion! Come join in the fun...

Craft Your Passion #71 - Pixie Cottage

This adorable image came from The Pixie Cottage. Doesn't it just make you smile? It's so cute! I colored her with my Copics and then put a hint of a cloudy sky behind her. I thought it was the perfect image for this snow globe with pink glitter dancing all around her. I added a pretty bubbly bow to it to finish it off. I can't wait to gift this one to the five year old little girl that has a birthday next month! =)

Delicious Doodles - Design Team Call

I recently discovered the absolutely beautiful images over at Delicious Doodles when they were so generous as to sponsor a challenge for us at Craft Your Passion. I had such a hard time picking just one image for that challenge (to be posted later), that I went back and bought numerous other digi's from them. This steampunk angel was one of my all time favorites - I just couldn't wait to use her on a card for my bestee. She was soooo much fun to color with my Copics - I actually did a few different versions of her, but for some reason I liked the purple and grey one the best. Another couple of Delicious Doodle images are actually printed lightly on the purple paper in the background, but by the time I put everything else on there, you have to look hard to find them. The velvet embellishments are from We R Memory Keepers, some of the gears and clocks are from Tim Holtz and some are just jewelry findings. I also made my own stick pins from jewelry makings...they added a nice touch! I loved the lace rag flower piece that seemed to just fit the tattered feel of this. I love the way it came out and I can't wait to dig into another of their awesome images.

I would be honored to be considered for their design team call.

Warm wishes for Amanda

I made this card for a coworker and friend who is leaving our beautiful state for a new life in Seattle. I wanted to make sure she knew that we all "wished her well".

You gotta love the "house-mouse" stamps - they are just too cute. I have more of them than I can count and was thrilled to find a good use for this one. I colored it with my Copics, added some scraps of design paper from DCWV, some hand stitching and a bubbly big ribbon and bow. The sentiment was created with my computer. The edges of everything are stipple brushed with my favorite ink for adding that distressed, vintage look... Amanda seemed to like it! And that's what matters, right?

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

The Paper Shelter - #26 - Real of faux stitching

Make it Monday - #49 - Linking party

Sundays with Crissy - #20 - Keep it simple stamper

Craft Your Passion - #70 - Under the Sea

I can't believe I let this entire week slide by without a post - It's been a crazy one, that' s for sure.

I am excited to share with you this just released image from Simply Betty. Isn't she just the cutest? I've been working hard on my Copic techniques and love the way this one came out. I learned the background bubble technique just this last weekend when I took an online class from Making Our Mark. Great class and wonderful techniques shared! I wanted to keep it simple so that the amazing image was really showcased. So, all I did was add it to a scalloped card base that was covered with cardstock, added a sweet ribbon and bow, a quick sentiment and then came the bling! I kinda went crazy with the bling, but I think it worked!

Come join us this week over at Craft Your Passion Challenges. Our challenge this week is "Under the Sea" and I would love it if you would come share your talents with us.
