CYP 99 - Paper Piecing - AiFactory

I am a little late getting this one up today - it's been a volleyball filled weekend again... But Craft Your Passion has another great challenge going on. This week we are sponsored by the fun and creative company, Ai Factory. Our challenge is to paper piece your image. I loved this cute stamp of springtime birds and paired it with some scraps from a layout I did a while ago. The papers are from My Minds Eye. I used a simple scallop edge punch from EK Success and even paper pieced the sentiment from Studio G. I finished it off with a pretty bright green bow and ribbon. It's a simple card, but I like the way it turned out. Come join our challenge at Craft Your Passion for a chance to win some great prizes.
I will be entering this card in the following challenge:
Make it Monday - #78 - Linky party
Crafty Catz - #125 - Letter B - blue, bird, bow, bright
Cute Card Tuesday - #205 - Winged things
Crafts and Me - #72 - Shades of spring

CMS - Under the Sea

The talented designer Kathy Zaban has just released a new set of stamps over at Copic Marker Scrapbooking. They are called Under the Sea and it's a great set including a couple of mermaids, several fish and the cutest sea horses... Hop over to the site Making Our Mark and check them all out as well as some great inspiration from our design team - there is even a FREEBIE over there as well.
I used the cute clown fish on the bottom card - and made it into a fish bowl with a cute sentiment... It's simple, but I thought it turned out cute.
On the top card I used one of her mermaid stamps. I had already chosen the papers I wanted to use on this card, so I matched the papers with my Copic colors. I thought it turned out so wonderfully rich and vibrant. I just love the color's on this card. I added some distress ink just to help match the papers a little and to add some depth to the edges of each of the layers of paper. Some trim and a bubbly bow out of a beautiful sheer ribbon finished it off.
I will be entering this mermaid card in the following challenges:
Make It Monday - #78 - Linky party
Crafty Catz - #121 - Starts with B - bow, blue, bird
CMC Copic - Bright/bold colors
Simon Says Stamp - 3 different papers

I had so much fun coloring him, using my Copics and blender pen to give him dots. I thought this paper from DCWV was just the perfect touch to match his coloring. It's kind of a happy missing you card - the bright colors help with that, as well as the sweet image. Go check out all the wonderful images Janice has going over at Scrappers Delight. I am sure you'll find something for your next project!

Monday has rolled around again... One thing to look forward to on Monday? Of course, another challenge at Craft Your Passion! This week our challenge is Red, White and Blue to help celebrate Presidents Day here in the great USA. This adorable digi came from one of our sponsors, Mami Doodles. I thought she was a cutie-patootie! Don't you? But there was something kinda sad in her face, so I thought she looked as if she was missing someone... She's colored using my Copics. I added some fun design papers from my scrap stash, the one already had the great faux stitching on it, some simple buttons and a sentiment from Studio G.

New Gig - Scrapper's Delights

I am excited and thrilled to annouce a new team I just started designing for... You gotta go check out the wonderful images over at Scrapper's Delights! Janice is soooo talented and her designs have such a wide range and variety.

I got a chance to design with this image called Rabbit Parka 2. Isn't she just too cute? There are several in the series with this adorable girl... You gotta go check them out.

For this card I colored her with my Copics, then used my Cricuit to cut the loopy frame. I used some fancy papers from DCWV, added a bubbly silk ribbon bow, a small flower I had made months ago that turned out to be an extra, some silky leaves and finished it all off with some black rhinestones. The simple sentiment was a dollar bin one from Studio G... I love the colors on this one - the purple, grey and black make for a very rich card, don't you think?

Well, be ready for some more examples from Scrappers Delights - I finished up another couple this weekend and will be showing them off as the digi's become available in the store... Until then, go check out all the great images over there - you'll fall in love just like I have!

Delicious Doodles #13 - "Pink"

Oh my gracious the day got away from me... I should have posted this first thing this morning, but obviously that didn't happen. It's challenge day over at Delicious Doodles and I really enjoyed this one. The full challenge title is "Pink to make the boys wink". I needed a get well card so I used one of Teri's amazing floral images to create this slightly shabbychic card. Isn't that image just wonderful? Her florals are so terrifc and versatile!

I colored it with my Copics, then grabbed my pink and blue scraps - added a touch of distressing to all the edges along with some sepia stippled ink. A simple sentiment, some pearl embellishments and some sweet lacy ribbon was all it needed.

Drop by the Delicious Doodles Challenge site to see some other great examples from our design team - then get your creative groove going and join us. There are five digi's up for grabs!

I will be entering this in the following challenges:

CYP 97 - Recipe Challenge - Delicious Doodles

Our challenge this week over at Craft Your Passion is a recipe challenge and we are sponsored by one of my all time favorite digital stamp designers - Delicious Doodles! I absolutely fell in love with this image (I am NOT goth) when Teri recently released it to us - it screams teenage angst! And with a 15 year old girl in my house, teenage angst is something I know more about than I really want to know.

The recipe this time around is 1 ribbon, 2 design papers, and at least 3 buttons. I used the green printed background paper, along with a fun splotchy one from DCWV. Then layered the image digitally on top of another set of stamps from Make it Crafty - the brick wall. I colored that with my Copics, then put some netting and lace behind the image. I added the cord (my interpretation of ribbon) to hang the cross on and cut the shanks off of some black bubble buttons to accent the corners. The title was printed on white cardstock, colored with my Copics and then cut out. I am very happy with the final results on this one!

Jump on over to Craft Your Passion Challenges for more inspiration from our design team - then get your fingers inky, your scissors sharp and get to work... We would love to see what you can do with our recipe!

I also added black layers to everything to make them all pop off the card. The fun white netting from Creative Impressions adds a bit of texture and the pretty pink bubbly bow was a perfect addition to finish it off.

Delicious Doodles - #12 - All Loved Up

It's challenge time again at Delicious Doodles and in a very timely manner, we've chosen "All Loved Up" as our theme. I kept my card a little generic, not adding a sentiment on the outside so that I could actually use this for just about any occassion. I thought it could make a good wedding card, or get well or even just a thinking of you type card. The colors do scream Valentines Day however! I used a simple rose image from Delicious Doodles, then added some coordinating papers from DCWV. A simple border punch from EK Success and a pretty bubbly red ribbon and bow added some dramatic color to finish it off.

Come join our challenge this week - show us what you've created for your Valentine and you just might win some great images from Delicious Doodles.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Stamps R Us - Valentines
Chocolate, Coffee and Cards - #5 - Thinking of You
Top Tip Tuesday - #69 - Valentines
