Delicous Doodles #16 - Texture

It's that time again at Delicious Doodles - we are playing with texture this time around... One of my favorite things to play with!

I had fun with this one and really stretched out of my comfort zone.  I colored this great Cruella image with my Copics, adding flock (which is hard to see) to the spots on the puppy and on Cruella.  I used a bunch of layers, including the very sparkly and heavy red glitter paper.  I found a great gate cut on one of my Cricut cartridges to add some fancy elements. Then a bright red bow and lots of crazy feathers finished it with flair.  My cat wouldn't leave it alone - hehe!

Join us this week for our challenge - show off your mad texture skills!

I will be entering this card in some challenges:

Waste Not Wednesday - Forgotten stuff (feathers)
Craft Room Challenge - Bling/glitter
Ribbon Carosel - Anything goes
Crafty Catz - Use a digi
Party Time Tuesday - Anything goes
Digital Tuesday - Favorite color (red)

Just for me...

I've been so involved in my design teams that it's been a while since I've done a card "just for me"... Well, when I saw this adorable Saturated Canary image I had to have it.  I just love the style of her images and this one brought to me a feeling of connection to my bestee.  No matter how far apart, there's always a connection - and the sweet sound of her voice brings home that feeling of having a confidant.  Torrey - I love you!
The image is colored with my Copics... I had to keep it big because of all of the little details I didn't want to miss.  I used some papers from a Recollections pack that all got hand stitched.  I added some ribbon, lace, colored pearls and a Prima flower and leaves.

So this one is for Torrey - my bestee and my confidant - the one I can share all my secrets with (like I have any of those...)  I can't wait until you're here next month!

I will be entering this in these challenges:

Milk Coffee - Anything goes
Paper Take - Bingo - gems/free/lace
Simon Says - Bingo - flowers/lace/ribbon
My Mums Craft Shop - Digital
Crafts & Me - Spring colors
Hanna & Friends - Flowers
Secret Crafter Saturday challenge - Shabby chic

Cute Card Thursday - Anything goes
Paper Play - Spring colors

Scrappers Delight first ever blog hop

Scrapper’s Delights first ever “Spring Blog Hop" has started!  The design team has several cards and projects to inspire you at every turn.

You should have arrived here from Kim's awesome blog. (If you get lost along the way, start at the beginning here at Janice's main blog.)

We are lucky enough to have Paulette from Create with TLC sponsoring our hop.  If you haven't checked out her site, DO IT!  She's got some amazing stuff going on over there sure to fit any need you might have.  One lucky winner will win the grand prize... an entire wordart set and an image of their choice from our store!

In addition to the grand prize, 5 DTs will randomly draw a name from the commenter's on their blogs and give away 1 image. You will not know which 5 DTs so be sure to comment on everyones blog. There will be 6 winners in total!! Winners will be announced on Tuesday, March 27th.

I have two cards to share with you - the first is one of Janice's amazing Easter images - bunny 2.  I found her to be so innocent and sweet - I just fell in love with her.  I kept the card simple, leaving the image to speak for itself.  I colored her with my Copics, added a simple punched border and used some great DCWV design papers.  All I added was a simple bow and some pearls to the punched designs.
The next one I have for you is one of Janice's older designs, but oooohhh so versatile.  Her name is Honey and she comes in a pack of several images.  Again I colored her with my Copics, added the silhouette cut image to a mat that I cut from my Cricuit.  I also embossed it using a Cuttlebug folder, then lightly sanded it down to the white core.  Some simple design papers, a little bit of fiber and a pretty bubbly bow added some texture.  I finished her off with this great sentiment from our sponsor, Create with TLC...it was the perfect saying to go with this image.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to comment at each blog for a chance to win some fun prizes.

The talented Shana is up next on the hop. Have fun!"

Thanks again for joining us and let’s get to hopping!

CYP #102 - Sentiment only

It's that time again... Another great challenge over at Craft Your Passion.  This week we want to see what you can do with a sentiment only - no image!  I picked this great sentiment from Create with TLC - she's so generous with her freebies and this one made me giggle... It's so true!  I used my Cricut for the frame cut and found a border punch from EK Success that matched it perfectly.  The design papers are from DCWV and the flower I put together is all seperate pieces from Creative Impressions, as is the wonderful silk ribbon.  It's a simple, happy, all occassion card like I love to have in my stash!

Come join our challenge this week for a chance to win some great prizes from Simon Says Stamp.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Make it Monday #81 - Linky party

Delicious Doodles - #15 - The Wonder of Life

Delicious Doodles is at it again - this time for challenge #15.  Our theme this week is "The Wonder of Life"... With my tulips and iris starting to pop up all over, visions of spring are everywhere.  The days are warming and signs of life are appearing all around.  I picked this great image from Teri of little dafodils because it brought me thoughts of the new life that springs up each springtime.

I tried something a little different this time around.  I wanted to keep this one really soft and almost watercolor-looking.  I used my chalks to add color to the stamp, then spritz it with some homemade glimmer mist to give it all a splattered soft painted look.  I love the way the image turned out and really want to try this again.  I think it could make a great background for other mediums as well.

Come on over to Delicious Doodles and join us in a great challenge this week... Teri has some amazing new images that I know you are just going to have to get.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

CYP #101 - Easel Card - Paper Shelter

Craft Your Passion has another challenge with great prizes... The challenge this week is one of my favorite - easel cards... I just love the way they display for that special image.  I got to work with this adorable image from Paper Shelter - they have so many wonderful and versitile images over there.  I love this one, it's such a serene and innocent image - makes me want to head to the park on this sunny 70 degree day of March.

I inked her up with my Copics, and created a very simple easel card.  The fence is a Cricut cut, the flower border is a punch from EK Success, the papers are from Recollections.  I adorned it with some simple twill and flowers from Prima...  I am not sure who the sentiment is from since it got loose from its storage, but my guess is Studio G.

Join us this week for a great challenge with a chance to win some wonderful prizes...

Copic Marker Scrapbooking - Irish Themes

The luck of the Irish has graced the folks over at Copic Marker Scrapbooking - a new set of stamps by the talented Guy Gondron - and they actually tell a story of Irish folklore and history.  I used this interesting stamp titled Eriu and kept my card very simple since the image is so detailed.  It was a challenge to ink this one with my Copics as there are a lot of small intregrit design elements... but overall I really like the way it turned out.  Not your normal St. Patricks Day card, but dripping with Irish undertones.

Jump over to Make Your Mark for a look at the entire stamp collection - it's quite extensive... with a ton of design team examples.  Plus, there's a couple of FREEBIES and everyone loves a freebie.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Make it Monday - #80
Whoopsi Daisy - Punch it out (lace border punch)

Scrappers Delight - Angels Run Softly

(Steps up to center of room, lowers head and softly speaks) Hi, my name is Jodi and I'm an "angel-a-holic"!
I love angels - my entire Christmas tree is covered in nothing but angels every year. My studio craft room has them hanging all around... They adorn my mantel... You get the idea! So when I saw this adorable image from Scrappers Delight, I knew I had to have her. Isn't she just too sweet?

I kept my color pallet soft, using my Copics to add details to the image. The border at the bottom and top are Cricut cuts and seemed a perfect match for the delecate image. I blinged it up with some lace and pearl accents. The sheer bubbly bow with a silk accent and some handmade stick pens finished it off.

I love the way this one came out! Go check out the images Janice has released this month at Scrappers Delight... If angels aren't your thing like mine, there are plenty of other ones to pick from.

Delicious Doodles - #14 - Music to soothe the soul

Wow... I did it again... My day got away from me and before I blinked it was midnight.  Sorry to be late with this post, but better late than never, right?

So, another challenge over at Delicious Doodles has begun.  This week we are celebrating projects inspired by the music in our lives.  Teri recently released this wonderful pansy image border and after I colored it, I couldn't help but have a song my mom used to sing to me stuck in my head.  I don't remember all of it, but I do remember the part that goes "Little purple pansies touched with yellow gold..."  I found this great sentiment from Create with TLC and the card practically made itself (well, maybe it had some help from my Copics and Xacto knife).

You should check out the shop over at Delicious Doodles - Teri has been on a drawing mojo high lately and has some great new images.  Who knows, maybe one of them will "sing" to you!

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - #206 - Signs of spring
Paper Play Challenges - #9 - Something old (stash), something new (image)
Paper Crafting Journey - #4 - Anything goes
Simon Says Stamp - Anything goes
