Whimsy Release Inspiration

The January release over at Whimsy Stamps included this cutie appropriately called "Sweetheart" from Time for Tea.  First of all, I gotta tell ya, their designs are just plain simple stinkin' adorable.  But the second thing I want to mention about them is that they are really a blast to color.  There is just enough detail to help you with shading and contours, but not too detailed that you can't add your own twist on things.  I love coloring their stamps.

Another note to mention on this card is the January release also included some wonderful new stamp sentiments by the one and only Simonne Clay of SC Design.  They are called "Fairy Tale Dreams" and are a perfect fit for the new die cut called "Crown Die".  I have seen so many wonderful ways to use this die, I just know it will be a favorite of mine.

Jump on over to the Whimsy site to check out all the new releases!  And don't forget there is still time to join our challenges.

I will be entering this card in these challenges:

Make it Monday - Linky party
Love to Scrap - Anything goes
Craft Your Passion - Girly girl
Milk Coffee Challenge - Girly challenge
Charisma Cardz - Inspired by a movie - Cinderella

New Tiddly Challenge - and a catch up!

Wow - huge weekend here!  I coach a girls club volleyball team and we had a three day tourney this last weekend!  I have to give a shout out to my girls here!!!!  They ROCKED IT!  Winning our bracket and finishing with a championship plaque!  (Sorry, had to brag a bit!)

Now on to the main reason for being here.  Today is the first day for a new challenge at Tiddly Inks.  We want to see your project featuring primary colors!  (Red, yellow and blue for those of you who might not remember your grade school art classes).  Our design team has some great inspiration for you at the site and to boot, there are some new images that will have you rolling right along... Go check it out!

For my card I used the adorable image called "Whatever Blooms", colored with my Copics, then put on some bright and fun primary papers.  I added a simple statement in the middle of a die cut flower and finished it off with a little ribbon.

(Sorry about the wonky camera angle, but I was trying to hurry so I could get to a volleyball match...hehe).

Now for the catch up... Because I was so preoccupied with the tournament this weekend, I totally spaced out our Inspiration Friday post at Tiddly... So I thought I would toss that one in here today.

This adorable stamp is called "Ellie Says Be Happy" and was part of the huge release from a couple of weeks ago.  Again she is colored with my Copics, then some great Basic Grey papers are layered, finished off with some blooms, a ribbon and a great quote stamp for the sentiment.  Colorful and cheery!!!!

I would like to enter the red, yellow and blue card in the following challenges:

Make it Monday - Linky party
Papertaike Weekly - Lovely layers
Love to Scrap - Anything goes
Paper Makeup Stamps - Add dimension
Craft Your Passion - Girly girl
Quirky Crafts - Layer it up

Tiddly Throwback Thursday

I warned you this was going to be a busy week on my blog, right?  Well, today I have another one to share...

This is probably the most iconic Tiddly image in my mind... I have loved her from the very beginning.  How can you not just smile at that adorable little honeybee?  She is called "Happy Bee Day" and comes in both digital and clear stamps.

It took me a while to come up with a design to match the wonderful image, but once I figured out what I wanted to do, it came together easily.  I love the feel the background papers created... Almost a mix of vintage and shabby chic... just love it!

This card also is the inspiration for a challenge on our Facebook page.  Check it out here to have a chance to win Tiddly prizes!

For my card I used the stamp called "Wren - Heartfelt Love" - inked with my Copics.  I went softer on the design papers, and realize I pumped up the contrast a little too much on the photograph.  The hearts really don't glow!  LOL.
