Delicious Doodles #19 - Try Something New

So, our challenge over at Delicious Doodles this week was truly what I consider a "challenge"... We are looking to inspire crafters to try something new - something you've never done, or always wanted to try but never given it a whirl.  This is right up my alley so to speak as I love to try new things and come up with inventive ways of creating... After all, it's only paper, right?  That's one reason I create - the process of discovering what I can do.  So what if it doesn't come out the way I thought it would, time to try again... or maybe it will become a "floppertunity" (dubbed term compliments of Torrey).  Either way, it's all about the process to me.

So, here's my card for the week and my new technique was the way I got the bubbles to turn out.  I wish the picture did it justice because they are really coooooolio!  Take my word for it, they look like real bubbles!

I started with this awesome image from Teri of Marina, then printed two sizes of the her bubble border image.  I colored the image using my Copics in nice bright and vibrant colors.

Then for the bubbles I used several very light colors of Copics, V000, R0000, BG0000, Y000, YG000... you get the idea.  I dabbed slight bits of color into the bubble images, just here and there, not really being careful.  Some got one or two colors, others got three or four.  Then I took my stardust gold glitter pen - you know the one that lays down that really fine line of gorgeous glitter - I just used this pen on the bottom line of the bubbles, highlighting the edge.  After all that, I put a drop of crystal lacquer on top of each bubble.  When it dried, the bubbles became almost opalescent with the color coming through and the hint of glitter being magnified by the lacquer... Oh my gosh, it was awesome to see them!  Soooo cool.

Now it's your turn... Let your inner child play this week... Find the MacGyver inside your crafting soul... Have fun and experiment... Let's see what you can do!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
