Tiddly Inks Challenge Time

We have another fun challenge going on over at Tiddly Inks... It's all about the movies and favorite characters.  I wanted to make a door hanger to go outside the new nursery we are working on... And what better inspiration for that then to watch one of my all time favorite movies - Three Men and A Baby.  If you haven't seen it, you're missing out big time!  Check it out!

I would like to enter this project in the following challenges:

Twisted Tuesday - Anything goes
Celebrate the Occasion - Anything goes
Party Time Tuesday - Anything goes
Quirky Crafts - Bright and dark
Crafty Catz - Color purple

Tiddly Ink Inspiration Friday

Gracious - it's been a while since I've posted... Life has been crazy busy here, but in good ways.

I have been organizing and sorting so much with the move of my craft room that I was having a serious problem tapping into my creative side.  I was fighting everything I tried... And even this project, I really didn't like in the beginning... But, I knew that if I just kept working on it, something would come together.

So, I really felt like it was an exercise to get my creative juices flowing again - ending up with a card I really like.  I started with the stamped image from Tiddly Inks called Wren Birthday Girl on a printed patterned paper.  I colored her up with my Prisma colored pencils, then just started doodling after that.  I finally worked on finding a background for it and found this great DCWV collage paper that worked so wonderfully for the background.

The bulk of this is just doodled, but some other colorants were added as well... metallic rubons, pigment powders and more colored pencil... then a white gel pen was the finishing touch.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Just Add Ink - Just add a fun background
Simon Says Stamp - Anything goes
Digital Tuesday - Birthdays
Make it Monday - Linky party

Tiddly Tuesday - challenge time

Hardly feels like spring here in Colorado - brushed about 14" of snow off my car this morning... but I chose a sweet and springtime image to use on my card this week for the challenge at Tiddly Inks.

It's a recipe challenge and after looking at mine I think I might have "fudged" the rules a bit... hopefully I'm the only one that noticed... hehe.  The recipe is 1 stamp, 2 embellies and 3 design papers.  Here's what I came up with using the image called "Wren Blooms".

Just a simple but sweet and happy card... Let's see what you can do with the challenge.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Make it Monday - linky party
Digital Tuesday - springtime
Ribbon Carousel - showers or flowers
Creative Card Crew - handmade flowers
Paper Make Up - girly

Inspiration Friday - Tiddly Inks

It's been a little quiet around here lately... I've been moving my studio to make room for the nursery, so my entire creative space has been dismantled and I've been stuck in my left brain with all the organizing and sorting going on.  Sometimes I find it very hard to switch over to my creative right brain in the middle of such a drastic change. I'll get there though and have a much more organized space to show for it. Pic's on all that later...

So, it's Friday and that means our wonderful design team at Tiddly Inks has been hard at work.  This is an image called Mystria - isn't she lovely?  I inked her up quite awhile ago, but just recently put her on a card.  I grabbed some great leftover scraps from another project, including the background paper which is one of my all time favorite printed vellum papers.  Added some simple cardstock elements and then lots of lace and bling... turned out pretty darn cute if you ask me.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Make it Monday - linky party
Moving Along with the Times - inspired by Purple Rain
Little Red Wagon - lovely lace
Fab n Funky - spring colors
Papertake Weekly - bingo - glitter, punches, lace
Crafty Bloggers Network - anything goes

Tiddly Inks Challenge Time

I love technique challenges - it makes me a better card maker to be challenged to try something new.  This week our challenge at Tiddly Inks is to use a technique of stitching, distressing or embossing.  Now I emboss all the time, but this time around I wanted to take it to a new level...

Each colored layer is embossed with a different embossing folder...but I also added ink to the folder before I ran it through my Wizard...  This gives it a faux letter press effect that I just love.  Sometimes the raised portion is very white and other times it comes out more muted, but either way it comes out pretty darn coolio.

I inked up this adorable image called Sugar Plum Fairy and then just started layering.  The frame came from a Paper Studio embossing folder and the rest are all Provo Craft ones.  I found these great little clear flat-sided acrylic pebbles that I spread all over the place, held down with a purple stickles for color.  A bright purple bow and a simple sentiment completes the card.

Come join the fun at Tiddly Inks - you could win some great images!
