Mixed media card

I love the time that I spent learning new art journaling techniques - and still enjoy creating pages for my art journals.  But I also find it very exciting to get a chance to use some of those techniques in my card making as well.

I created the background for this card using water color paper, Tim Holtz tissue paper and my Gelatos.  Then I used a Penny Black stamp called Demure and a Penny Black sentiment die cut called Envision to create the focal point of the card.  The flowers are colored with watercolors, then I went over the entire stamp with a black gel pen and highlighted it with a PITT pen to bring more dimension to it.  I love how dramatic it came out!

Birthday love for Torrey

I have been waiting to post this card for a while now.  I created it about a month ago, but wanted to send it to my bestee, Torrey (Left Field Studio) for her birthday.  She finally got the package today and has seen the card - so I can finally share it here.

I fell in love with this stamp the first time I saw it... and again the sentiment is what makes the card!  It's called "Crown Set" and is available from Art Impressions.

I did a little bit of a multimedia background, adding some modeling past colored with inks then applied through a stencil for the background paper.  The rest is pretty much my standard - colored with Copics and distressed with Distress Inks... And of course, it had to have bling!!!
