CYP 95 - Beary Wishes - Crafty Sentiments

This week has been quite a challenge - that's why I am excited to see Monday come again... It's a new week! Time for a fresh start! Also time for another challenge at Craft Your Passion. This week we got a chance to work with some adorable images from our sponsor Crafty Sentiments - just too cute. Our theme is Beary Wishes - your project must have bears on it. I picked this cutie-patootie image with this sweet fuzzy bear sitting on a giant mushroom. I colored him with my Copics, and distressed the edges with sepia ink. Isn't he precious? I added a bunch of layers of My Minds Eye design papers, a hand-stitched zigzag border and a simple metal sentiment. It's truly a simple design, but it looks like I spent hours. I love that in a card!

Go dust off your bear stamps or hunt through your digi's and find that bear image - then create away and join us at Craft Your Passion Challenges. You'll be entered for a chance to win some great prizes, including images from Crafty Sentiments and a $10 voucher for Robins Nest.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Karen's Doodles - #97 - Cute and Cuddly
Pollycraft Monday - #125 - Favorite Things (I love love love this set of papers)
Make it Monday - #74 - Linky Party
Color Throwdown - #176
Mark's Finest Papers - #92 - Layers

Thanks for stopping by. Here's hoping this week is better than the last!!!

Color Throw Down #142, City Crafter #57, RCC3

I absolutely loved working with the colors at the Color Throw Down #142 this week. Lime green and black are two of my favorite colors to work with anyway, so adding the grey wasn't a hard task at all. The harder thing for me was keeping it clean and simple, as I don't always do simple very well. However, I think that it still fits that category, so I'm linking it to the challenge over at the Ribbon Carousel for their RCC3. I also had fun working with stripes and polka dots on this one, although the stripes were harder to find and add then the dots. That fits the challenge at City Crafter week #57.
I used an Inkadinkado stamp that I picked up in the clearance bin today... Love the fact that I only spent $.49 on it... LOL... Gotta love that. I clear embossed over lime green chalk ink by Clearsnap. Added some striped paper from my scraps along with some green that matched the stamped image. Ran the white cardstock through an embossing folder, added the grey and that's all it took.
Oh yeah... I forgot to take a photo of the inside... it says "Bring on the cake!" =)

Card Patterns 76, Color Throwdown 104 - My Favorite Things

This is a triple hitter! It's a thank you card to send to the wonderful folks at My Favorite Things, plus a card to submit for the current Color Throwdown #104 and for the Card Patterns sketch 76.

I love the images of todays stamps, but occassionally I get caught up in the current colors, themes and the such... Every now and then it's nice to use a very modern stamp and still be able to make it work in a more detressed, aged card. I also love to use up old supplies...it's an awesome feeling when you find that piece of paper that just seems to fit the mood you're looking for. This old stuff from Provo Craft worked perfectly. I added some chipboard letters from We R Memory Keepers, modified to fit the color scheme, a perfect resting place for this cute stamp.

Originally I had brads in the upper right corner to keep with the sketch. They just seemed like after-thoughts. So, instead I found some butterflies I could stamp... adding some sepia stippled ink over all of the stamped images helped tone them down to match the feel of the paper. I am very happy with the way it turned out...

Color Throwdown 99

This is for the Color Throwdown 99 --- I had already picked out these colors for another card I had made earlier this week... So, I figured I'd just use up some scraps and make another.
I love the new Hampton Art cling stamps... such style! Added a few touches of a glaze pen and voila... Cute!
