You're a fungi

This card makes me happy - and I can't wait to give it away.  I love puns, so any card that highlights a punny phrase is right up my alley.

Once again, I created this using the Gina K Wreath Builder template - I warned you I had become addicted to it!  I also used several stamps from a couple of different Lawn Fawn sets, then colored them with my Prisma's, mounted it all on a grey card base, used some Lawn Fawn plaid paper and a touch of yellow ribbon to finish it off.  Easy peasy card, but so adorable.

Hippo Birdie 2 Ewe

It's been much too long since I've been here to post a creation - let's just say, life gets in the way sometimes!  I really want to be better about it - and it hasn't been that I haven't been creating - I just haven't had the time to photograph and post as much.  Well, I'm here today to change that!

I created this card for my father's 91st birthday - hard to believe he's 91 when you meet him... I think most people would say he's in his early 80's the way he looks and acts.  I am amazed by this man so much.

I needed something totally unique for this occasion - enter inspiration from Torrey - and voila!  It came together easily...  She can be a thousand miles away, and she is still inspiring me, each and every day!

I used a bunch of Lawn Fawn products including the hippo and birdie stamps, the hills, grass and fence border dies and the words hippo and birdie.  The "2" is just handwritten, and the sheep and EWE word are from My Favorite Things.  I used a cloud stencil from My Favorite Things as well as some Distress Inks to create the cloud background.  The hay bail stamp is from an older farm set that honestly, I can't source - not sure who makes it.  All images were stamped on textured cardstock and colored with my Prisma's, then fussy cut.  The patterned papers were all just from my scraps.

You're a Hoot!

Happy Friday!  Glad to be back to share this make using a Whipper Snapper stamp called Hedwig.  I am so drawn to their images and especially the birds and chickens they have... right up my alley and so fun to color.  I share some more of their stuff later this month.

I colored him with Prisma colored pencils on craft paper, adding white highlights with an ink gel pen.  Fussy cut him and added some fun papers to highlight him.  The "You're a Hoot!" sentiment stamp is an old one I think from Hampton Arts Studio G, back when there were dollar bins at the hobby stores.

That's all for today - hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend and happy crafting!

Out of my comfort zone....vaavoooom

When Torrey was here this past fall we challenged each other on many occasions.  She would pick an image I had to use, I would pick one she had to use.  We would make a card using the same theme, or image.  We would make each other use a particular color scheme or certain art medium... the list went on and on.  It was our way of challenging each other to step out of their comfort zone and stretch our creative juices.

Well, this one certainly stretched me...  You see, I am a Copic girl through and through and Torrey is a Prisma colored pencil girl to the end.  So our challenge to one another was Torrey had to use Copics and I had to use colored pencils.  HAHA... talk about out of my comfort zone.  This is the result...  Oh yeah, she also got to pick the image.  If I remember right I picked a fairly easy and generic image for her, while she picked this detailed image with of all things, chrome.  She is wicked to the core but I love her so.  All in all, I do like the way this came out despite having to use a medium I am not that great with.

Challenges for this card:

A Bit More Time to Craft - anything goes
Crafting By Design - anything goes
Crafty Gals Corner - anything goes
Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge - anything goes
Craft Your Passion - anything goes

That's all for now....

CYP 83 - Brown - Sassy Studio

It's challenge time again - Craft Your Passion Challenges has a new sponsor, Sassy Studio. I loved the images they provided to us to design with this week. I picked this one probably because it's how I'd like to be spending this Monday morning instead of headed off to work.

I used my Prisma's on kraft paper to color the image before I silhouette cut her out. I kept the design simple as I wanted to convey that relaxed attitude. Finally had a chance to use this awesome crocheted ribbon/lace I bought years ago but never used...

Our challenge this week is to use the color brown - how easy is that? Come join us for a chance to win some great images from Sassy Studio.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

Make it Monday - #62 - Mr. Linky Party
Ribbon Carousel Challenge - #RCC27 - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by - Happy Monday!

CYP #79 - All Occassion - Guylou

We've got a fun challenge going on over at Craft Your Passion - just make an "All Occassion" type card and come join the fun. Our sponsor is Guylou and they've got some great images to work with over there. Go here and check them out...

I'm trying my hand at Prisma's on kraft colored paper... I always like to try out new things and challenge myself to learn new techniques. I've got a lot of work to do to get where I want to be with this method, but I like the way this one turned out.

I added some fun paper from my scrap bin (sorry, don't know who's paper it is)... Then a piece of kraft that I ran through an embossing folder. The sentiment is one from Hampton Arts. I finished it off with a bubbly bow and added some bling pearls to dress it up a touch.

I would love for you to join our challenge - there's always a chance to win and ya gotta love that.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

The Secret Crafter #155 - Antyhing Goes + Sparkle
The Ribbon Carousel #23 - Anything Goes
DYSU #40 - Using Brown
Crafts and Me #55 - Use a Digi
