Delicious Doodles #13 - "Pink"

Oh my gracious the day got away from me... I should have posted this first thing this morning, but obviously that didn't happen. It's challenge day over at Delicious Doodles and I really enjoyed this one. The full challenge title is "Pink to make the boys wink". I needed a get well card so I used one of Teri's amazing floral images to create this slightly shabbychic card. Isn't that image just wonderful? Her florals are so terrifc and versatile!

I colored it with my Copics, then grabbed my pink and blue scraps - added a touch of distressing to all the edges along with some sepia stippled ink. A simple sentiment, some pearl embellishments and some sweet lacy ribbon was all it needed.

Drop by the Delicious Doodles Challenge site to see some other great examples from our design team - then get your creative groove going and join us. There are five digi's up for grabs!

I will be entering this in the following challenges:

My Mums Craft Shop - Pearls and swirls

Crafty Catz Weekly - Favorite things

Paper Sundaes - Recipe - blue, distress, pearls, cream

Shelly's Images - Show us what you've got

My favorite Mo design this year

One of my all time favorite stamp designers is Mo Manning. She never ceases to amaze me with her talent. Her images are so easy to use, adapt and create for any occasion. When I wanted to enter a Copic contest, I knew I had to use some of Mo's images for my project. (By the way, it got me on the Copic Marker Scrapbooking design team! :)

Once I saw all three of these ragamuffin carolers, I knew that would be my base. Adding the simple lamp post was a must. I enjoyed coloring these images a ton and love the way they came out.

I fussy cut each image so I could place them on this glittered music background paper. There are many layers of hand stitched patterned paper, cheesecloth, doilies, ribbon and some poinsettia flowers. I added some mini pine cones, stick pens, holly leaves and a small sentiment in the corner. This is all built on a wooden background that has a stand. It became a decorative present for my parents for Christmas.

I will be entering this project in the following challenges:

Mo's Digital Challenge #115 - 2011 Favorite Mo Project
Card Crafter's Circle #3 - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Incy Wincy Designs #126 - Winter Wonderland
Paper Sundaes #100 - Celebrate

Thanks for stopping by - I hope this next year brings you all the joy and happiness you can handle!
Happy New Year!

Delicious Doodles #7 - Hairy Legs

Hairy legs? The challenge this week over at Delicious Doodles is hairy legs... That one made me laugh - I thought maybe our design team had lost their minds (or in my case, just looked down). The challenge could include anything with hairy legs... animals, hubbies, spiders, etc.

I picked this new image from Teri that reminds me of Happy Feet. I fell in love with these adorable penguins and they just seemed the perfect image for a manly card. The image only needed the yellow highlights on the penguins and a little blue on the icebergs to color it. I dry embossed a raised frame in the lighter blue and then kept the card very simple in design. I felt like the image didn't need much as far as embellies. Just a sweet Hampton Arts sentiment and matching ribbon.

Come join the challenge - let's see what crazy thing you can come up with for hairy legs!

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

The Joyful Stamper - Inspire Me Friday #34
Moving Along With the Times - Ribbon / Bows
Rainbow Ladies - Card for Men - #180
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes
One Stitch at a Time - Anything Goes - #89

Enjoy your week!

Hugs,
Jodi
