I miss hanging out with you

Missing my bestee a ton right now, so I decided to make a card to send her way showing her some love.  The "Chunky Monkey" set from Sugar Pea Designs was the perfect go to set to create this card which is headed to Texas now.  The monkey and branch were colored with my Copics, then fussy cut out.  I paired it with a stitched border background out of some leftover scraps I had lying around, including a layer of velum that has the slightly smudged but still cut sentiment from the same stamp set.

Thinking of You - MFT

There is something so wonderfully whimsical about Gnomes... I can't help but collect gnome stamps whenever I can find adorable ones.  This one is from My Favorite Things and I love that there are several great ones to chose from.  It's called BB You Gnome Me.  I had fun coloring this one up with my Copics - then using a border punch from EK Success for the notebook edge, a grass border die cut from Lawn Fawn for the bottom and a Jelly Bean die cut for the sun.  I think it's just a fun and happy card.

O-Fish-Ally Awesome!

Swimming by today to share this cute little make using the set called "Fintastic Friends" from Lawn Fawn, colored with my Copics.  The sentiment is from the "Dad + Me" set from Lawn Fawn as well.  The papers are from My Minds Eye and the finishing touch was a patterned ribbon from Hobby Lobby.

Ewe are loved - My Favorite Things

I have a wonderful friend who is going through a rough time right now with the health of her mom.  I wanted to send her a card to let her know I was thinking of her and praying for her and her family.  This card I created last time Torrey was here just seem to say what I was wanting to convey.

I used the adorable stamp collection from My Favorite Things called Ewe Are The Best.  If I remember right the challenge Torrey had given me before I made this one was "black and white with one pop of color"... not my easiest challenge, but I think I pulled it off.  It's smaller than normal but the images dictated the size, (2.75" x 4.25").

The images are colored with my Copics, fussy cut out cause I don't have the die cuts to match, and placed on a simple blocked background.  Nothing special in the design, but I think it fit the mood well.

Happy weekend!

Llama lovin'

You just gotta love a photo-bombing llama more than just about anything, right?  This card just makes me giggle.  I put "Bad llama, bad llama" inside and gave it to my son-in-law who loves the movie Emperors New Groove - so it was just perfect.  Nothing too fancy, but with this adorable set from Gerda Steiner called Llama Tell You, I had just about everything I needed.  A little coloring, some pen work and an oval die cut set was all it took to create this hilarious card.

Happy Birthday - Mo Manning style

I needed a springtime Happy Birthday card for a dear friend who's birthday is tomorrow - so what better image than to pick Mo Manning's "End of Summer" - which to me, looks like spring.

I used my Copics to add color, then a Spellbinder's zigzag edge die to cut it out.  Some bright and colorful patterned paper from my scraps, along with a gingham ribbon and some punched flowers add pizzazz.   The sentiment stamp is from my endless supply of non-descript and unlabeled sentiment stamps.  (What was I thinking way back then...?)

Special Day

Back today to share a make from this adorable Mo Manning image.  I used the stamp called "Goodness" inked up with my Copics.  The papers are from my scrap stash and the sentiment die and stamp are from Whimsy Stamps but I can't find them on her site, so they may be discontinued.  I used a fun stitched die frame from Cottage Cutz to frame the image.  Some lace across the bottom and some clear sequins added a soft girly touch.

Challenges:

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge - anything goes
Little Red Wagon - who runs the world-girls!
Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes

I craft - what's your superpower?

Popping into blogland to share a make I created this weekend just for fun!  I seem to be drawn to the this color pallet a lot lately!

I honestly have no idea who makes this cute teddy bear stamp - it is acrylic and was floating free in my animal's box of stamps.  Must have gotten it back when I wasn't keeping track of manufacturers at all.  Anyway, I digress....  She is adorable and that's all I know about her.

I used my trusted and true Copics to color him, then just went with the flow of the design papers.  The sentiment stamp is from Whipper Snapper Designs.  The frame for the sentiment is from Spellbinders.

Challenges:

Crafty Catz - anything goes with twist of baby card
A Bit More Time to Craft - anything goes
Crafts Galore Encore - anything goes
Love to Scrap - anything goes
4 Crafty Chicks - anything goes - twist add a sentiment

Happy Friday!

Crafty Catz - week 4

Well it's my last week with Crafty Catz and I have thoroughly enjoyed having this opportunity to play along with them.

This week the sponsor is Time for Tea and the challenge is "Happy Birthday" - I forgot to take a picture of the inside of my card, but it says "Just a note... to wish you a happy birthday!"  Sorry I didn't get around to adding the inside pic - life got in the way this week.

So, I used the Time for Tea image Sunflower Girl to start with.  I colored her up with my Copics.  I fussy cut her out, then used a Spellbinders die to cut a background scalloped oval to place her on.  The bottom edge of the card is cut with a Lawn Fawn border to show the fun floral print paper inside the card.  I used some matching patterned papers to add some color and detail.  The sentiment stamps are from my stash of very old stamps...unsure of the maker.

Now it's your turn... Head on over to Crafty Catz and play along with us.  I am looking forward to seeing what you can do!

Crafty Catz GDT - week 3

Back this week with an adorable image from Whipper Snapper for this card as inspiration for the Crafty Catz challenge blog.  I LOVE WHIPPER SNAPPER - they couldn't be any cuter.  When this challenge suggested I could use any image of my choice, they were my go-to stamps.  My niece is having a baby shower this weekend - so what better chance to use this adorable image Sweet Safari.

I colored it up with my Copics and found some design papers in my scraps - I think they are from Die Cuts With  A View and matched perfectly.  The challenge is to add a touch of pretty ribbon, so the yellow ribbon above the die cut sentiment is a finishing touch to complete the card.

There are some great chances to win prizes from Crafty Ribbons and participate as a guest designer over at Crafty Catz this week... head on over and play along with us.  I would love to see what you are creating!

Crafty Catz - Guest Design week 1

I have the wonderful opportunity to be a guest designer for a wonderful challenge blog called Crafty Catz.  The challenge is always "anything goes" over there, but they also have a twist of "one for the girls" if you want to play along.

The sponsor is Star Stamps and they provided me with this adorable image.  I colored her with my Copics and then added some cute design papers and a fun die cut frame to this card.  I found a simple hugs stamp from Paper Smooches to add the sentiment.  I like the way it turned out.

Hop on over to Crafty Catz to see all the wonderful samples the design team created and join in the fun challenge!

I Love You

Back today with another Paper Smooches inspired card.  I used the Smoocheroos stamp set for it together with some fun edge stamps from EK Success and a oval die set that I recently pick up.  I colored it with my Copics and although you can't tell, the balloons are covered in glossy accents.  I used some fun 6x6 Doodle Bug papers to keep with the bright and cheery feel.  The colors and prints them come up with at Doodle Bug are always so happy!  It all came together very easy and I hope Torrey smiled when she got it in the mail.

duh nuh, duh nuh, duh nuh, duh nuh...

This card was a "almost asleep, nighttime inspired" design.  You know that time of the night when you can't shut your mind off?  Yep, it came to me then - and I almost got up and created it right then.  However, after a night of good sleep, it went together easily.

I used a great stamp set from Avery Elle for the images called "Hello chum", and the "Slide on over" die cut set from Lawn Fawn to make the shark fin move back and forth...  I wish I had a recorder button on it playing the "Jaws" theme song... haha.

I gave this to my brother Bruce for his birthday, which made it extra cute since he loves the movie Finding Nemo and the shark's name in that is Bruce.  But even funnier is the fact that Bruce was also the name they gave the shark in Jaws, although that was just an on-set name, never used in the movie.  There ya go, a little fun trivia for the day.

Bruce belongs in some challenges:

Little Red Wagon - wet and wild
Crafting by Design - anything goes
Crafty Creations - anything goes
The Paper Girls Challenge - sea or beach

Have a great day!

Got Candy?

This adorable little candy monster reminds me of one of my favorite movies - Monsters Inc.  Doesn't he look like Mike Wazowski?  He comes from Taylored Expressions and comes complete with die cuts to match.  He is called Candy Monster and was a breeze to color up with my Copics.  Some circle die cuts layered and cut to frame the image made this card an easy one to put together.

I think Mike Wazowski deserves to be in some challenges, don't you?

Art Impressions Card for Torrey

I adore the humor associated with Art Impression's stamps - they are so "punny"!  I created this one to send to a friend who was fighting off some health issues - and to top it off - was a nurse by profession.  I hope you enjoyed it Torrey!

I used the "Get Well" stamp set.  I colored the image with my Copics, then fussy cut her out so I could put her on the die cut circle stack.  Some matching design papers and a small ribbon strip finishes the card.  So fun!

I think she needs to be challenged!

Paper Smooches - just one more

One last entry for the Paper Smooches Design Team call...  This is one I made a couple of weeks ago for my dad for Father's Day.  It's simple, but I like it.  It was made using a couple of different stamp sets including the "Zoo Crew" and "Word Up" as well as the die set "Cloud Dies".  It has basic coloring with my Copics, a hand drawn border behind the image which is popped off the card.  Simple but cute!

Challenges:

Paper Smooches - It's all about the men
Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge - quick and easy
Artistic Inspirations - anything goes
Crafty Creations - anything goes

That's enough for now... Thanks for being here!

Hugs,

More Paper Smooches ...

Here is another card for the Paper Smooches Design Team call.  I used their "Summer Lovin" stamp set for this one.  I colored the images with my Copics and created a little scene using Distress Inks and some papers from my scrap stash.  I think it turned out very peaceful and sweet.

Here's some challenges for this one.

Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes
Crafty Cardmakers - summertime
4 Crafty Chicks - summertime activities
My Time to Craft - summertime

Thanks for visiting.

Paper Smooches Design Team Entry

I have a new obsession...  I can't stop it and not even sure I want to!  Paper Smooches are quickly becoming my favorite stamps and die cuts to use.  I love the adorable, whimsical images and the humor is so much fun - tongue in cheek, just my kind of puns.

It was so exciting to see that they were having a guest design team call.  I just had to throw my hat in the ring and hope for the best.

This card was created using their "Green Acres" stamp set along with the "Spring Groves" tree stamp.   The sentiment was printed on my computer.  The images are colored with my Copics and the background is shaded with Distress Inks.  I didn't think it needed anymore then a couple of patterned paper mats and the ribbon accent.

Along with the Paper Smooches design team call, I think I'll enter a few challenges as well.

Stamping Sensations - use your favorite stamp
The Corrosive Challenge - anything goes
A Bit More Time to Craft - anything goes
Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes

Thanks for stopping by today - I'll be back tomorrow with another entry for Paper Smooches.

Dropping you a line

This card was made with an adorable set from Avery Elle called That Bites.  It makes me smile!  I used a mask to stamp them in a cluster, then colored them up with my Copics.  It didn't feel like it needed too much but the sentiment, a hook and a hand drawn sketchy border.  Someday it will bring a chuckle to a friend.

I think I'll toss my card into some challenges:

A Bit More Time to Craft - Anything goes
4 Crafty Chicks - Summertime activities
Artistic Inspirations - Anything goes
The Corrosive Challenge - Anything goes
Crafty Creations - Anything goes

Happy crafting!

Card for Torrey - From the Heart

After a couple months of sabbatical (forced, not chosen), I am finally in my craft room again.  It feels so good - as creating something gives me peace!  I found this adorable stamp set at "From the Heart", a digital stamp company I didn't know anything about.  It's called "Mad for Science".  Well, this one screamed at me, "Make me into a card for Torrey".  She is an Einstein geek from way back, so this just seemed like a card that had to go home with her.

I kept it simple, focusing mostly on the image and the sentiment.  I love the science paper I found for the background.  It's from my stash of years gone by - from Die Cuts With a View I believe.  Einee was colored with my Copics.  The sentiment says it all... I really do miss her when she is gone!

I would like to enter this in some challenges:

Love to Scrap Challenge - Boyz rule
A Bit More Time to Craft - Anything goes
Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge - Quick and easy
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything goes

Thanks for stopping by - have an amazing day!
