Delicious Doodles #13 - "Pink"

Oh my gracious the day got away from me... I should have posted this first thing this morning, but obviously that didn't happen. It's challenge day over at Delicious Doodles and I really enjoyed this one. The full challenge title is "Pink to make the boys wink". I needed a get well card so I used one of Teri's amazing floral images to create this slightly shabbychic card. Isn't that image just wonderful? Her florals are so terrifc and versatile!

I colored it with my Copics, then grabbed my pink and blue scraps - added a touch of distressing to all the edges along with some sepia stippled ink. A simple sentiment, some pearl embellishments and some sweet lacy ribbon was all it needed.

Drop by the Delicious Doodles Challenge site to see some other great examples from our design team - then get your creative groove going and join us. There are five digi's up for grabs!

I will be entering this in the following challenges:

CYP 97 - Recipe Challenge - Delicious Doodles

Our challenge this week over at Craft Your Passion is a recipe challenge and we are sponsored by one of my all time favorite digital stamp designers - Delicious Doodles! I absolutely fell in love with this image (I am NOT goth) when Teri recently released it to us - it screams teenage angst! And with a 15 year old girl in my house, teenage angst is something I know more about than I really want to know.

The recipe this time around is 1 ribbon, 2 design papers, and at least 3 buttons. I used the green printed background paper, along with a fun splotchy one from DCWV. Then layered the image digitally on top of another set of stamps from Make it Crafty - the brick wall. I colored that with my Copics, then put some netting and lace behind the image. I added the cord (my interpretation of ribbon) to hang the cross on and cut the shanks off of some black bubble buttons to accent the corners. The title was printed on white cardstock, colored with my Copics and then cut out. I am very happy with the final results on this one!

Jump on over to Craft Your Passion Challenges for more inspiration from our design team - then get your fingers inky, your scissors sharp and get to work... We would love to see what you can do with our recipe!

Delicious Doodles #10 - New Year - All Things New

Delicious Doodles is ringing in the new year with a great challenge - New Year - New Things! That was an easy one for me since Teri has been busy creating some wonderful new images. I love this image called "Fallen" - it made me think of someone who was down and needed a lift to believe again. So, I made it into an encouragement card - wishing someone a miracle. I colored her with my Copics and layered her on some great DCWV design papers. The shape is a Cricut cut (as is the star frame) that I just made into a shaped card that turned out kinda cool. The large stars are slightly scored and molded to give them some dimension.

So, it's time to show off what you got for Christmas or find a new image you haven't used yet... Come join us for this challenge and you may just win some great prizes from Delicious Doodles.

Delicious Doodles - #8 - Extravagant Christmas

Delicious Doodles has a great challenge going - it's over-the-top, embellished to the hilt, extravagant Christmas time! I had such fun decorating these great images from Teri of these Christmas ornaments... Went on glitter and gem overload!!! LOL The base of the card is red glitter paper, with a Cricuit cut oval laid on top of some fun gold net ribbon. I colored the baubles with ... of course ... my Copics, sprayed them with some homemade glimmer mist, then adnorned them with more glitter and rhinestones. Felt Christmas bows top them for the perfect finishing touch. My sentiment is a Cloud 9 stamp with handwritten wishes. The corners are another Cricut cut with a glitter pen highlight and another gem. To add the final touch, I made my own stick pins and stuck them in for good measure. All in all, a pretty heavily adorned Christmas card that will probably need to be hand-delivered instead of mailed...hehe!

So, how much can you put on a Christmas card? Take the challenge... I bet you can do a great job!

Delicious Doodles #7 - Hairy Legs

Hairy legs? The challenge this week over at Delicious Doodles is hairy legs... That one made me laugh - I thought maybe our design team had lost their minds (or in my case, just looked down). The challenge could include anything with hairy legs... animals, hubbies, spiders, etc.

I picked this new image from Teri that reminds me of Happy Feet. I fell in love with these adorable penguins and they just seemed the perfect image for a manly card. The image only needed the yellow highlights on the penguins and a little blue on the icebergs to color it. I dry embossed a raised frame in the lighter blue and then kept the card very simple in design. I felt like the image didn't need much as far as embellies. Just a sweet Hampton Arts sentiment and matching ribbon.

Come join the challenge - let's see what crazy thing you can come up with for hairy legs!

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Delicious Doodles - #6 - Remembrance

I was so excited to have a day to spend with my parents yesterday - having them live close by is such a blessing - and one I take for granted too often. I had the pleasure of spending the day working with my daddy on teaching him how to restore some old photos and crafting with my mommy...making cards together. What an awesome way to spend a day... They both mean so much to me and I am very honored to have them as my parents.

This is the card I made while playing in mom's craft room. I love these images from Teri (over at Delicious Doodles Shop). Her sketching ability is amazing and I am so jealous of her talents. Our challenge at Delicious Doodles Challenges this week is "Remembrance". I think these images go together so nicely and made for a lovely sympathy card for my stash. I colored them very lightly with chalk, just to give the hint of color... added some great paper from my stash (no clue who makes it), some ribbon and a simple sympathy stamp I recently got from the $1 bin.

Pop on over to the site for some inspiration by our design team - they've blown me away yet again! Join in the challenge for a chance to win some great images from Delicious Doodles!

Delicious Doodles - #5 - Saintly Good vs Ghastly Evil

Over at Delicious Doodles we've got a great challenge going on... Saintly Good vs. Ghastly Evil! I knew I wanted to side with the "good", and finding an image was extremely easy for me.

I chose this great image from Teri because I instantly related to and fell in love with it. About 12 years ago my husband and I had a still born child and one of the things that got me through that was the thought that my little girl was resting with angels. This image depicts the way I like to think of her... being cared for and loved until we are once again together in heaven.

Whichever side you pick, or show both on the same card like many of our design team ladies so expertly did, come join our challenge and show us your devilish side, or your heavenly side!

Delicious Doodles #4 - Halloween...but...no orange!

Happy Halloween.... But NO orange! That's our challenge this next two weeks over at Delicious Doodles. Teri has some great Halloween images to pick from - I was drawn to this creepy fun image for this haunting card. A simple coloring job with my Copics, and then some crazy-edged cutting for the mat and edge along with some feathers and netting adds to the gothic feel of this Halloween card. The sentiment is from the dollar bin made by Inkadinkado. The papers are from Graphic 45's Alice in Wonderland collection. I colored my pearl stick pens with a Sharpie to turn them black...they add a little touch!
I'd love to see your Halloween cards - come join the fun for a chance to win some great digital images.

CYP #78 - Anything Goes + Ribbon

Wow...This week really got away from me. Busy busy busy! It's already time for challenge 78 over at Craft Your Passion Challenges. We are doing an anything goes challenge with a twist - your card must have ribbon. I love our sponsor's images so much, I design for her team as well. Delicious Doodles has some great Halloween images, so that's the direction I went this time around. I used four of her images to create this care. It's hard to tell on this photo, but it's really a window card with the gravestones in the background and everything else on the frame in front.

Would love to see your work this week at Craft Your Passion... Come join in the fun - there are tons of prizes, so lots of ways to win.

Delicious Doodles has another great challenge going - hop on over to get the details about our "Cute as a button" challenge #2.

I colored her with my Copics, cut her out and added some simple background papers. Then a few buttons, some fitting corner pieces and easy-peasy, it's done! This was a fun one to complete.

I'd love to see what you can do with buttons - so come join us in the fun. You'll have a great opportunity to win some wonderful images!

Steampunk goes wild...

This was soooo much fun to create... I've been working on it for about two weeks, not really sure what I was doing, but loving the images so much that just kept trying to mix and match them to get it all to come together. I started with the adorable ladies from TidlyInks, then came up with the wonderful Steampunk treehouse from Make It Crafty. Then added the amazing frame from Delicious Doodles. After all the coloring with my Copics I layed some scrap paper, some funky ribbon mesh , some lace, on the background before adding the images. The the buttons, butterfly, roses, flowers, and the such all found a home on the by-now-very-heavy card. I ended up spraying some Glimmer Mist in copper over most of it, giving it a little added sparkle and speckled grunge look. I hope you enjoy!

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Sunday's With Crissy - #21 - Friends

Delicious Doodles - Challenge #1 - Fresh Start

So, this is my first official challenge as a member of the Delicious Doodles design team. Our challenge for the next couple of weeks is "Fresh Start" - use something new. Well, just about everything on this one is new. The wonderful image "Jewelled Fairy" is new to me, the design team is new to me and this is only the second time I have tried airbrushing. For some reason, the night sky seems to fit quite a few of Teri's wonderful images. I love the way it sets off the oranges in this image. I colored her with my Copics, and the sky is airbrushed and spattered. I added jewels all over the image and then again as accents on the edges. I'm thrilled with the way it turned out... Come play with us over at Delicious Doodles Challenges! I'd love to see what you come up with!

CYP - #73 - Delicious Doodles

Over at Craft Your Passion, we have a wonderful sketch challenge going on. It was so fun to work with - go over and check it out!

But even more fun to work with was the wonderful images from our sponsor, Delicious Doodles. I had such a hard time trying to figure out which image to work with. I found image after image that just spoke to me. I ended up picking up this wonderful zebra and foal and immediately decided to put them against a dark sky background. I airbrushed the sky with my Copic's then used the old-toothbrush-flick method to give it a sparked sky. The rest of the card just fell into place thanks to the sketch.

I would love to see what you can design using the sketch. Pop on over and join us!

Delicious Doodles - Design Team Call

I recently discovered the absolutely beautiful images over at Delicious Doodles when they were so generous as to sponsor a challenge for us at Craft Your Passion. I had such a hard time picking just one image for that challenge (to be posted later), that I went back and bought numerous other digi's from them. This steampunk angel was one of my all time favorites - I just couldn't wait to use her on a card for my bestee. She was soooo much fun to color with my Copics - I actually did a few different versions of her, but for some reason I liked the purple and grey one the best. Another couple of Delicious Doodle images are actually printed lightly on the purple paper in the background, but by the time I put everything else on there, you have to look hard to find them. The velvet embellishments are from We R Memory Keepers, some of the gears and clocks are from Tim Holtz and some are just jewelry findings. I also made my own stick pins from jewelry makings...they added a nice touch! I loved the lace rag flower piece that seemed to just fit the tattered feel of this. I love the way it came out and I can't wait to dig into another of their awesome images.

I would be honored to be considered for their design team call.
