Sunshine

Just a quick card to share today... and I have very few details on the stamp at all.  Not sure where I got it or who makes it - it's just from my stash.  So, if anyone has any clues, please let me know.  I would love to be able to source it.

She is colored with my trusted Copics and the design is very simple... A Crafter's Companion oval shaped die cut frames her.  I added a punched (EK Success) border from scrap paper, then used some clever pattered paper for the sentiment because it just seemed to fit the image super well.  Sequins dotted here and there finish it off.

Challenges:

Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes
Artistic Inspirations - anything goes
Crafty Catz - anything goes
4 Crafty Chicks - scrap paper
Fun 'n' Funky Challenge - young girl
Crafty Gals - use something new - sequins

Thanks for joining Kaboo Designs today.  I hope your weeks is awesome!

Fairy - Crafter's Companion

It is with mixed emotions that I post this project today - It's been one of my favorite projects completed for Crafter's Companion, and now I post it as my last official design team post for them.  My term with them has ended and although I am ready to move on to other challenges and excited about what comes next, I'm going to miss working with them and their products.

They sent me a Gemini die cutting machine several months ago and I have been using it continuously ever since.  If you haven't seen it yet, you must check out the deets on the website here.  It's an amazing machine and takes die cutting and embossing to a new level.  It's about to be released on HSN for the first time, so you need to definitely check it out.

I used a beautiful image from the Morgan Fitzsimons Flight fo Fantasy CD, colored her with Spectrum Noir pens, then used one of the embossing folders and die cuts that come with the machine to frame her.  One of them had this great lattice pattern, so I added some color using the Spectrum Aqua watercolors to add the colors inside of the embossed design.  Some gorgeous flowers finished it off.

Thanks again to Crafter's Companion for a fun last nine months.  I have come to love your products and working with you has been great.

Hugs to all!
Jodi

4th of July - Crafter's Companion

It's about time to celebrate the birth of our great nation!  I love the 4th of July with picnics, outside games, lying on the grass looking up and of course...the fireworks!

For this card I colored up some of the images from the Crafter's Companion Patriotic sets with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, the put them in a frame from Sheena's A Little Bit Sketchy - Just Torn stamp to make it look like they blew right through the page.  I love the combination!

I think I'll add this card to a couple of challenges:

Thanks for joining in the fun today!

Love in Bloom page - Crafter's Companion

I admit it - cardmaking has kind of taken over scrapbooking in my craft world... However, I still like to put a page together now and then and this one had a special purpose.  My daughter has been scheming for months to pull off a surprise birthday trip for her other half.  This included leaving him clues and presents almost weekly for that last few months.  When I saw this adorable selfie of the two of them, I knew I had to do a layout to frame and include in this fun game she was playing.  I think it captured the joy and love they share.

The new Crafter's Companion Sara Davies Love and Romance Collection was the perfect starting point for this layout.  And lucky me, the kids just happen to be wearing grey, black and red.  Again a perfect match to the papers in this collection.

This collection has wonderful stamps, papers, die cuts, sentiments, charms, ribbon, embossing folders, heart doilies and other great stuff.  Plenty to put any layout, card or craft project together with ease.

I hope the kids enjoy displaying this page as much as I enjoyed putting it together for them.

Just to finish off the story, she pulled off the surprise beautifully!  And the best part... I got to have the little one for the entire weekend they were off playing in the mountains!  Grandma time is the best thing ever!

Hugs,
Jodi

Clematics card - Crafter's Companion

There's a new release over at Crafter's Companion today from Sheena - and these are so unique and cool.  They are in the "A little bit sketchy" collection and all have this wonderful torn through look to them.  This one is called Clematics.  It's is just too coolio?

I stamped this image onto Spectrum Aqua Watercolour cardstock I used my Spectrum Noir AquaBlend Colored Pencils to add the color and dimension, then just layered it on some patterned paper and cardstock.  I used distress ink on the edges to complete the aged look.  Simple, but stunning in my humble opinion!

You gotta head over to the website to check out this new collection... I would love to see what you can do with them.

Retirement Tag - Crafter's Companion

I admit it!  I play favorites!  And this one is on the top of the list!  This simple retirement tag turned out to be one of the favorite projects I have completed in the last couple of months.  It just makes me smile.  Maybe it's the sunshiny colors, maybe it's the tongue in cheek sentiment, or maybe it's the fact that I created it while I was visiting with my bestee, Torrey... but for whatever reason, it makes me happy!

I created it for the Verity Rose release over at Crafter's Companion using the Sunbeam accessory stamps and my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers (see complete list below).

This one deserves to be shared in some challenges:

Day of the Dead bracelet - Crafter's Companion

I knew as soon as I saw these new stamps from Crafter's Companion that I wanted to use them to create a Day of the Dead charm bracelet.  How fun is that?

These new stamps were released recently and created by Sheena Douglas and called Day of the Dead.  I used a combination of stamps from the Floral Fiesta, Sugar Skull, and Union of the Souls sets to create this project.

I started with some ShrinkyDink material, then stamped the images on it using a permanent die ink.  I then had to figure out what to color the images with to get the most vibrant image.  I love the way the Spectrum Noir AquaBlend Colored Pencils went on so smooth.  I didn't add any water to them, just colored the images and saturated the areas with lots of pigment.  I fussy cut them, added a hole to hang it from and then used a heat tool to shrink them.  You could use the oven as suggested by ShrinkyDink, but I find a heat tool works just as well.

Then I just attached them to a chain bracelet along with some beads and trinkets.  I think it turned out adorable!!!!

Here are the Crafter's Companion supplies I used.

I think I'll toss my hat (or bracelet as the case may be) into some challenges:

Thanks for dropping in!

Jodi

Inspire canvas - Crafter's Companion

Happy Saturday - so glad to be home and catching up on laundry, cleaning my craft studio and spending some time with Tom.  Life is good!!!

I wanted to share another canvas I created for my collage... two down, three or so to go!  I can't wait to get them all finished and hung.  Looking forward to seeing them together.

For this one I used a great set from Crafter's Companion which has a set of stamps and die cuts that match.  It's from the ubber-talented Sheena Davis and this one is called Sheena's Perfect Partners - Sweet William.  I also collaged a bit with the Sheena - A Little Bit Scenic stamp set called Silhouette grasses and the Kimono Paper Moon set.  I colored the main image with Spectrum Aqua Watercolor Markers and used the Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen in crystal clear to highlight things.  I am really happy with the same it turned out.

Here's a list of the colors I used and the Crafter's Companion supply links:

Stamps / Dies - Sheena Perfect Partners Sweet William

Small framed florals - Crafter's Companion

I wanted to share a quick little project today that I created for my spare bathroom.  I found these adorable little glass frames in the dollar bins at Michaels and thought they would go great on the curio shelf to bring a little color to an otherwise drab bathroom.

I used some adorable stamps from Crafter's Companion - they are the Stamp It Australia - Inspiration collection called Floral Fancies.  This is such a wonderful and versatile stamp set that I have used over and over...

I colored the images with the Spectrum Aqua markers to add a pop of color to each image, then popped them in the frame - the Aqua markers made this project so easy and simple to complete in just a short amount of time.

The Crafter's Companion supplies I used are:

Blessing card - Crafter's Companion

Popping in today to share this happy, springtime card I created for Crafter's Companion...  It just makes me smile with the adorable stamped image from Barkley Everyday called Special Friend.  The bright and springy colors remind me of this time of the year when my tulips are just starting to open and the daffodils are popping up all over the place.  I love spring time in the Rocky Mountain area!

I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir AquaBlend colored pencils using the colors of sky blue, oregano, kiwi, bison, ebony, dove grey, iron grey, beeswax, wheat, petunia, papaya, watermelon, cherry, soft red and carrot.  A cute sentiment from the same stamp set, and lots of pretty patterned paper brought this one together!

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:

Moving Along With the Times - springtime flowers
Simon Says Stamp - let's do polka dots
Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge - anything goes
