Thinking of You - MFT

There is something so wonderfully whimsical about Gnomes... I can't help but collect gnome stamps whenever I can find adorable ones.  This one is from My Favorite Things and I love that there are several great ones to chose from.  It's called BB You Gnome Me.  I had fun coloring this one up with my Copics - then using a border punch from EK Success for the notebook edge, a grass border die cut from Lawn Fawn for the bottom and a Jelly Bean die cut for the sun.  I think it's just a fun and happy card.

Sunshine

Just a quick card to share today... and I have very few details on the stamp at all.  Not sure where I got it or who makes it - it's just from my stash.  So, if anyone has any clues, please let me know.  I would love to be able to source it.

She is colored with my trusted Copics and the design is very simple... A Crafter's Companion oval shaped die cut frames her.  I added a punched (EK Success) border from scrap paper, then used some clever pattered paper for the sentiment because it just seemed to fit the image super well.  Sequins dotted here and there finish it off.

Challenges:

Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes
Artistic Inspirations - anything goes
Crafty Catz - anything goes
4 Crafty Chicks - scrap paper
Fun 'n' Funky Challenge - young girl
Crafty Gals - use something new - sequins
Penny's Challenge - anything goes

Thanks for joining Kaboo Designs today.  I hope your weeks is awesome!

Hugs,
Jodi

Delicious Doodles - #12 - All Loved Up

It's challenge time again at Delicious Doodles and in a very timely manner, we've chosen "All Loved Up" as our theme. I kept my card a little generic, not adding a sentiment on the outside so that I could actually use this for just about any occassion. I thought it could make a good wedding card, or get well or even just a thinking of you type card. The colors do scream Valentines Day however! I used a simple rose image from Delicious Doodles, then added some coordinating papers from DCWV. A simple border punch from EK Success and a pretty bubbly red ribbon and bow added some dramatic color to finish it off.

Come join our challenge this week - show us what you've created for your Valentine and you just might win some great images from Delicious Doodles.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Stamps R Us - Valentines
Chocolate, Coffee and Cards - #5 - Thinking of You
Top Tip Tuesday - #69 - Valentines
Truly Scrumptious - #73 - Love and Hearts
Paper Shelter - #49 - Love is in the Air
Fab & Funky - #106 - Use a Digi
DYSU - #57 - Anything Goes

SSSC82 - Cosmo Cricket

I adore Cosmo Cricket! Whether I am working with their latest release, or finding past treasures of bits and pieces in my scrap boxes, I find designing with their product a breeze... It almost designs itself. The colors are so rustic and the patterns easily adaptable to whatever mood I want to portray. I'm sending this one off to them as a thank you for their most recent help with my project. Hope they enjoy the blast from the past Cosmo product.

Also, thought I would submit this one to the Sweetest Thing sketch 82. Found this sketch fun to use and easy to work with. Thanks for stopping by!

Sympathy

It's been my week to make sympathy cards (unfortunately). I've mass produced both of these designs to send to family and friends affected by several deaths that have hit too close to home.
I am happy with the way these have turned out and enjoyed playing with the softer, more muted side of color. I hope they provide a little comfort to those with hurting souls.

Inaugural Post

Welcome to the first of what will hopefully be many posts to a new blog dedicated to an ever-growing passion of mine.... Handmade cards!

Although I have been a paper crafter for years and years, card making has taken a backseat to many other forms of expression. Only recently have I discovered how satisfying it can be to sit for either a short or extended period of time and create unique and inspiring bits of artistic expression.

So, here's my first post... A card I made this weekend for a friend's birthday. I ended up liking it so much I decided to use part of it for my blog design and header...at least for now.
