You're a fungi

This card makes me happy - and I can't wait to give it away.  I love puns, so any card that highlights a punny phrase is right up my alley.

Once again, I created this using the Gina K Wreath Builder template - I warned you I had become addicted to it!  I also used several stamps from a couple of different Lawn Fawn sets, then colored them with my Prisma's, mounted it all on a grey card base, used some Lawn Fawn plaid paper and a touch of yellow ribbon to finish it off.  Easy peasy card, but so adorable.

Hippo Birdie 2 Ewe

It's been much too long since I've been here to post a creation - let's just say, life gets in the way sometimes!  I really want to be better about it - and it hasn't been that I haven't been creating - I just haven't had the time to photograph and post as much.  Well, I'm here today to change that!

I created this card for my father's 91st birthday - hard to believe he's 91 when you meet him... I think most people would say he's in his early 80's the way he looks and acts.  I am amazed by this man so much.

I needed something totally unique for this occasion - enter inspiration from Torrey - and voila!  It came together easily...  She can be a thousand miles away, and she is still inspiring me, each and every day!

I used a bunch of Lawn Fawn products including the hippo and birdie stamps, the hills, grass and fence border dies and the words hippo and birdie.  The "2" is just handwritten, and the sheep and EWE word are from My Favorite Things.  I used a cloud stencil from My Favorite Things as well as some Distress Inks to create the cloud background.  The hay bail stamp is from an older farm set that honestly, I can't source - not sure who makes it.  All images were stamped on textured cardstock and colored with my Prisma's, then fussy cut.  The patterned papers were all just from my scraps.

Thinking of You - MFT

There is something so wonderfully whimsical about Gnomes... I can't help but collect gnome stamps whenever I can find adorable ones.  This one is from My Favorite Things and I love that there are several great ones to chose from.  It's called BB You Gnome Me.  I had fun coloring this one up with my Copics - then using a border punch from EK Success for the notebook edge, a grass border die cut from Lawn Fawn for the bottom and a Jelly Bean die cut for the sun.  I think it's just a fun and happy card.

O-Fish-Ally Awesome!

Swimming by today to share this cute little make using the set called "Fintastic Friends" from Lawn Fawn, colored with my Copics.  The sentiment is from the "Dad + Me" set from Lawn Fawn as well.  The papers are from My Minds Eye and the finishing touch was a patterned ribbon from Hobby Lobby.

Crafty Catz - week 4

Well it's my last week with Crafty Catz and I have thoroughly enjoyed having this opportunity to play along with them.

This week the sponsor is Time for Tea and the challenge is "Happy Birthday" - I forgot to take a picture of the inside of my card, but it says "Just a note... to wish you a happy birthday!"  Sorry I didn't get around to adding the inside pic - life got in the way this week.

So, I used the Time for Tea image Sunflower Girl to start with.  I colored her up with my Copics.  I fussy cut her out, then used a Spellbinders die to cut a background scalloped oval to place her on.  The bottom edge of the card is cut with a Lawn Fawn border to show the fun floral print paper inside the card.  I used some matching patterned papers to add some color and detail.  The sentiment stamps are from my stash of very old stamps...unsure of the maker.

Now it's your turn... Head on over to Crafty Catz and play along with us.  I am looking forward to seeing what you can do!

Thoughts of You Explosion

These explosion box cards are such a fun and unique way of making a card and the Lawn Fawn scalloped box card pop-up set makes them sooooo easy to do.  I used that set for the entire box setup, banners, and all.  Then I added some stamped and Copic colored flowers from Paper Smooches (Best Buds) set.  I fussy cut them all cause that's what I call therapy!  Hehe...  I love the way it came together and I hope it brightened a friend's day when she got it.

Penguin lovin

Look at me...posting two days in a row...that's right, I'm proud of myself!  Woohoo!

So, I wanted to share this cute little make I did for a dear friend at Christmas.  It's covered in Lawn Fawn stamps and die cuts, colored with my Copics and layered to the hilt.  You can't tell, but it's also drenched in glitter!  What's not to love, huh?  I just love these two sets from Lawn Fawn - and although I wouldn't mass produce this one for my Christmas card list, doing it for a special friend was so much fun.  Hope you enjoy!

Have a wonderful blessed day!

duh nuh, duh nuh, duh nuh, duh nuh...

This card was a "almost asleep, nighttime inspired" design.  You know that time of the night when you can't shut your mind off?  Yep, it came to me then - and I almost got up and created it right then.  However, after a night of good sleep, it went together easily.

I used a great stamp set from Avery Elle for the images called "Hello chum", and the "Slide on over" die cut set from Lawn Fawn to make the shark fin move back and forth...  I wish I had a recorder button on it playing the "Jaws" theme song... haha.

I gave this to my brother Bruce for his birthday, which made it extra cute since he loves the movie Finding Nemo and the shark's name in that is Bruce.  But even funnier is the fact that Bruce was also the name they gave the shark in Jaws, although that was just an on-set name, never used in the movie.  There ya go, a little fun trivia for the day.

Bruce belongs in some challenges:

Little Red Wagon - wet and wild
Crafting by Design - anything goes
Crafty Creations - anything goes
The Paper Girls Challenge - sea or beach

Have a great day!

Say Cheese --- House Mouse

Wow - two posts in one day... what the heck?  Wanted to toss out another quick one before I call it quits for the day.  This is a simple card I made using the House Mouse stamp called Say Cheese.  I colored him with my Spectrum Aqua markers then used some of the Spectrum Noir's to add a few shadows.  I kept the design very simple, just using grey as a neutral and the shades of coral to highlight the little guy.  I love the stitch designs from the Lawn Fawn die cuts that add a textural touch.

This card is entered in a few challenges:

House Mouse & Friends - Zodiac or anything goes
Fab 'n' Funky - buttons or bows
Love to Scrap - anything goes

Hope to see ya again soon!

Let it Snow - globe

I'm back today to share a fun little make I gave to a very special friend this year.  It's a snow globe shaker card!  I think it turned out amazing.  Fun story - I made this while my friend Torrey was visiting me and she and I both made shaker snow globes.  We didn't plan it that way, but when we are together our tojomojo is undeniable!  We just started the projects and then realized we were both working on globe shakers... Haha!  If you want to check her's out, go to Left Field Studio - although hers puts mine to shame.

I used a stamp from Crafter's Companion - and unfortunately, it is no longer available.  But I love it!  I colored it up on Spectrum Aqua water colored paper using the Spectrum Aqua markers.  I used a free clip art image from the web as a template for my globe (Torrey had picked the same one without knowing...).  I added lots of glitter, some snowflake punches and fake snow inside the shaker.  I finished if with a Lawn Fawn die cut sentiment, some more punched snowflakes and pearls.  Cute, huh?

This is definitely going into some challenges:

Crafty Gals Corner - anything goes
Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes
Little Red Wagon - sparkle and shine
Love to Scrap - anything goes
Crafty Creations - anything goes

Merry Christmas!

Hugs,
Jodi
