Believe - House Mouse

I thought it would be fun to enter the House Mouse challenge again this go around... and the challenge is "Butterflies".  Well, I didn't really want to go to literal on that, I mean anyone can just slap a butterfly on any image, right?  So, I found this adorable image of a mouse in a caterpillar costume.  I think that the sentiment fits it perfectly and that this will someday make a terrific card for someone needing some encouragement, or moving on to something new in their life.

I colored him with my Copics, then used a Spellbinders die to frame him.  The "believe" is a stamp far too old to even source, and the sentiment is just typed and printed.  The patterned papers are from Doodlebug Designs - and are just such happy colors.

So, I guess I throw this one into the House Mouse challenge and maybe a few others as well.

House Mouse - Butterflies
Crafty Catz - Animal magic
Chocolate, Coffee and Cards - Use a die cut
Fab 'n' Funky - favorite color combo (pink & green)

Thanks for popping by today.  See you again soon (hopefully).

Hugs,
Jodi

Second go around - House Mouse

Had too much fun with the last card I made using only "older" products that I wanted to try another one for the House Mouse challenge.

I started with the Stampabilities House Mouse stamp called Wishin' Well that was released in 2008.  I stamped it on kraft paper then used my Prisma's to color it up.  I have collected my Prisma's over the last 15 years or so.  Then I found this great old paper in a pack from DCWV that I know has been in my drawer for at least 10 years or more.  It's actually a "pet" stack, but these papers were versatile enough to use for anything.  The corner rounder and corner punch are both from EK Success and I've had them for over 12 years.  The ribbon is from my stash that's been accumulating for many many years.  The sentiment is stamped using an alphabet stamp set from Scrappy Cat, and I know I've had it for at least 7 or 8 years.  So, while I may not have used the oldest stuff in my craft room, I definitely found some older stash stuff to play with.

Thanks for joining in the fun today.

Hugs,
Jodi

Just For You - House Mouse fun

So over at House Mouse they are having a challenge that sparked my interest - I knew I had to join in the fun this time around - Something old...Nothing new!  How fun is that?

I couldn't wait to get in on this one... I went through my drawers and dug out an old Hot of the Press Cardmakers Creative Pack from 2005 (11+ years old).  Their papers still hold appeal to me on so many levels.  They had some great color choices and combinations.  That was my starting point!  In the pack there was a simple label that I used to stamp the sentiment.  I honestly have no idea who makes the sentiment, but I know it's been in my stash for at least 15 years.

Then I used a Spellbinders die that was one of the first ones I ever had.  I honestly can't find any reference to the date it was released, but I have no doubt it is at least 10+ years old.

The House Mouse stamp is called Bunny Cruise and was released by Stampabilities in 2008 (8 years old).  I colored it with my Copics, which I have acquired over the past 7 or 8 years.

The brads are from Creative Impressions and are at least 10+ years old as well.

So, there you have it!  My "Something old...Nothing new" card.

Thanks for stopping in today - have a great one!

Hugs,
Jodi

With Love - House Mouse fun

Dropping in today to share this new make using another adorable image from House Mouse called Tails of True Love.  It's so simple but so cute!

I used a Taylored Expression die cut for the background, and pieced it together with a bunch of different patterned papers.  I also used a Taylor Expression heart board to add the heart die border on top of the lace.  The "with love" is a Spellbinders die cut and finishes it off.

Think I'll enter this card in some challenges:

Love to Scrap Challenge - have a heart
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Crafting For All Seasons - love is in the air
Crafting By Design - anything goes
Crafty Creations - hearts
House-Mouse challenge - love is all around

Thanks for stopping by!

Say Cheese --- House Mouse

Wow - two posts in one day... what the heck?  Wanted to toss out another quick one before I call it quits for the day.  This is a simple card I made using the House Mouse stamp called Say Cheese.  I colored him with my Spectrum Aqua markers then used some of the Spectrum Noir's to add a few shadows.  I kept the design very simple, just using grey as a neutral and the shades of coral to highlight the little guy.  I love the stitch designs from the Lawn Fawn die cuts that add a textural touch.

This card is entered in a few challenges:

House Mouse & Friends - Zodiac or anything goes
Fab 'n' Funky - buttons or bows
Love to Scrap - anything goes

Hope to see ya again soon!

Jodi

Birthday House Mouse

I have been making a ton of Christmas cards lately... love doing them, but there was something so freeing about working on this adorable House Mouse image today - and to top it off, their current challenge is "Rainbow Colors" - So, I got to play with tons of color as well.  I used my Crafter's Companion Spectrum Aqua's to color the image that is called "Candle & Jellie Beans".  It went so quickly because of these wonderful water markers.  Then I framed it with a Spellbinders die and lots of colorful patterned paper.  In fact, I have five different patterned papers on there!  Not too bad...

I will be throwing my hat in the ring over at the House Mouse challenge:

Thanks for stopping in today.

A little House Mouse fun

A very dear friend of mine suffered a profound loss this week and I wanted to make him a card showing how much I was thinking of him.  This adorable House Mouse stamp did just the trick.  I colored it up with my Copics, then found the perfect paper to accent the colors I used.  The frame die cut is from Spellbinders and the sentiment is part of an older Hero Arts set I have.  I hope it all brings Kevin a little comfort!

I think I'll enter this card into some challenges:

Inky Impressions - furry friends
A Bit More Time to Craft - anything goes
House Mouse & Friends - use plaid
Artistic Inspirations - anything goes

Hugs to you all!

Warm wishes for Amanda

I made this card for a coworker and friend who is leaving our beautiful state for a new life in Seattle. I wanted to make sure she knew that we all "wished her well".

You gotta love the "house-mouse" stamps - they are just too cute. I have more of them than I can count and was thrilled to find a good use for this one. I colored it with my Copics, added some scraps of design paper from DCWV, some hand stitching and a bubbly big ribbon and bow. The sentiment was created with my computer. The edges of everything are stipple brushed with my favorite ink for adding that distressed, vintage look... Amanda seemed to like it! And that's what matters, right?

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

The Paper Shelter - #26 - Real of faux stitching

Make it Monday - #49 - Linking party

Sundays with Crissy - #20 - Keep it simple stamper

Cute Card Thursday - #177 - Clean and Simple

Charisma Card - #32 - Distressing

Thanks for stopping in - leave me some love if you inclined - I always love hearing from you!
