Just Chicken In - Taylored Expressions

It's been a stressful couple of weeks, so not too much time in my craft room... (sniff sniff)... but hoping to get back in there soon!

So, I'm showing an older make today.  This stamp set called Happy Hens is from Taylored Expressions and I immediately fell in love with it.  Of course, I kinda have a thing for chickens, so it was no big decision when I found it - obviously, I HAD to have it!

I used my Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers from Crafter's Companion to color it, and then added quite a bit of  Ranger's Distress Ink around the edges to give it that vintage look.  The grosgrain ribbon and colored twine combine with the button to add to the country feel.

Here's to a great week!

Got Candy?

This adorable little candy monster reminds me of one of my favorite movies - Monsters Inc.  Doesn't he look like Mike Wazowski?  He comes from Taylored Expressions and comes complete with die cuts to match.  He is called Candy Monster and was a breeze to color up with my Copics.  Some circle die cuts layered and cut to frame the image made this card an easy one to put together.

I think Mike Wazowski deserves to be in some challenges, don't you?

Grumpies from Taylor

I honestly love love love the Grumpies from Taylored Expression... They crack me up and just make me smile... Then pair it with this wonderful sentiment, and this card is ready to make some ones day.

I paired the two easily by cutting the Grumpie out and just placing him on the opening of the sentiment.  I guess I could have stamped them together using my Misti as well, but I don't think I had that much planned out... hehe!  Some decorative papers, burlap and buttons, a frame and a punched border is all it took to make this one pop.

Challenges:

Crafty Gals Corner - three of a kind

Bad Mooo-d - Taylored Expressions

Had fun today playing with a new stamp set I have from Taylored Expressions - Grouchy Grumplings.  They had a sketch up on their blog and a color pallet that I decided to play along with.  I colored this grumpy cow up with some Prisma colored pencils, then just played with some scraps to create this simple card.  Fun stuff that will bring a smile to my friend who needs a little pick me up.

I will be entering this into some challenges:

Share Joy Challenge at Taylored Expressions - sketch and color combo
A Bit More Time to Craft - anything goes
Crafts Galore Encore - anything goes
4 Crafty Chicks - anything goes

Thanks for stopping in today - have a great weekend.

Guest Designer - Crafting By Design

I was asked to be a guest designer over at Crafting by Design this week.  It was an honor to be asked and fun to play along with their current challenge of three layers or more.

I picked this adorable stamp/die set from Taylored Expressions to use for this birthday card.  It's a simple set that made this card come together quick and easy.  I used my new Spectrum AquaBlend colored pencils to color the gumball machine and gumballs.  Then used the matching die cut to cut it out, plus a window in the center.  I created the shaker box by mounting acetate on the front portion, then foam tape between the front and back to hold in a little bit of glitter.  I also used a bit of crystal lacquer around the edges to make sure the glitter didn't escape since it was such a skinny edge.

The sentiment stamp and die cut border are also from Taylored Expressions.  The scalloped edge die cut is from Spellbinders and the stitched border die cuts are from Lawn Fawn.

Thanks Crafting by Design for this fun chance to play along!

This card deserves to play in some challenges:

Crafty Catz - stitching faux or real
Penny's Paper Crafty challenge - anything goes
Love to Scrap - anything goes

Thanks for stopping by - enjoy your weekend!

With Love - House Mouse fun

Dropping in today to share this new make using another adorable image from House Mouse called Tails of True Love.  It's so simple but so cute!

I used a Taylored Expression die cut for the background, and pieced it together with a bunch of different patterned papers.  I also used a Taylor Expression heart board to add the heart die border on top of the lace.  The "with love" is a Spellbinders die cut and finishes it off.

Think I'll enter this card in some challenges:

Love to Scrap Challenge - have a heart
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Crafting For All Seasons - love is in the air
Crafting By Design - anything goes
Crafty Creations - hearts
House-Mouse challenge - love is all around

Thanks for stopping by!
