Just Chicken In - Taylored Expressions

It's been a stressful couple of weeks, so not too much time in my craft room... (sniff sniff)... but hoping to get back in there soon!

So, I'm showing an older make today.  This stamp set called Happy Hens is from Taylored Expressions and I immediately fell in love with it.  Of course, I kinda have a thing for chickens, so it was no big decision when I found it - obviously, I HAD to have it!

I used my Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers from Crafter's Companion to color it, and then added quite a bit of  Ranger's Distress Ink around the edges to give it that vintage look.  The grosgrain ribbon and colored twine combine with the button to add to the country feel.

Here's to a great week!

Fairy - Crafter's Companion

It is with mixed emotions that I post this project today - It's been one of my favorite projects completed for Crafter's Companion, and now I post it as my last official design team post for them.  My term with them has ended and although I am ready to move on to other challenges and excited about what comes next, I'm going to miss working with them and their products.

They sent me a Gemini die cutting machine several months ago and I have been using it continuously ever since.  If you haven't seen it yet, you must check out the deets on the website here.  It's an amazing machine and takes die cutting and embossing to a new level.  It's about to be released on HSN for the first time, so you need to definitely check it out.

I used a beautiful image from the Morgan Fitzsimons Flight fo Fantasy CD, colored her with Spectrum Noir pens, then used one of the embossing folders and die cuts that come with the machine to frame her.  One of them had this great lattice pattern, so I added some color using the Spectrum Aqua watercolors to add the colors inside of the embossed design.  Some gorgeous flowers finished it off.

Thanks again to Crafter's Companion for a fun last nine months.  I have come to love your products and working with you has been great.

Hugs to all!
Jodi

Inspire canvas - Crafter's Companion

Happy Saturday - so glad to be home and catching up on laundry, cleaning my craft studio and spending some time with Tom.  Life is good!!!

I wanted to share another canvas I created for my collage... two down, three or so to go!  I can't wait to get them all finished and hung.  Looking forward to seeing them together.

For this one I used a great set from Crafter's Companion which has a set of stamps and die cuts that match.  It's from the ubber-talented Sheena Davis and this one is called Sheena's Perfect Partners - Sweet William.  I also collaged a bit with the Sheena - A Little Bit Scenic stamp set called Silhouette grasses and the Kimono Paper Moon set.  I colored the main image with Spectrum Aqua Watercolor Markers and used the Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen in crystal clear to highlight things.  I am really happy with the same it turned out.

Here's a list of the colors I used and the Crafter's Companion supply links:

Stamps / Dies - Sheena Perfect Partners Sweet William
Sheena - A Little Bit Scenic - silhouette grasses
Kimono - Paper Moon
Spectrum Aqua Watercolor Markers - blossom, sunset, moss, bud green
Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens - crystal clear

Small framed florals - Crafter's Companion

I wanted to share a quick little project today that I created for my spare bathroom.  I found these adorable little glass frames in the dollar bins at Michaels and thought they would go great on the curio shelf to bring a little color to an otherwise drab bathroom.

I used some adorable stamps from Crafter's Companion - they are the Stamp It Australia - Inspiration collection called Floral Fancies.  This is such a wonderful and versatile stamp set that I have used over and over...

I colored the images with the Spectrum Aqua markers to add a pop of color to each image, then popped them in the frame - the Aqua markers made this project so easy and simple to complete in just a short amount of time.

The Crafter's Companion supplies I used are:

Stamp It Australia - Imagine - Floral Fancies
Spectrum Aqua markers - red violet, rose pink, blossom, lime, bud green, moss, wild flower, sunflower, jasmine, aquamarine, sea green, meadow

I will enter this project into some challenges:

Just Add Ink - photo inspiration
Crafty Gals Corner - anything goes
Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Crazy 4 Challenges - springtime flowers

Thanks for stopping by my spot today - I hope your day is full of sunshine and happiness!

Just to Say Thanks tag - Crafter's Companion

I love the way this tag came out, but the photo just doesn't do it justice.  I created the background using Spectrum Aqua pens, then ran it though a Textures embossing folder.  After that I took a black ink pad and rubbed it all over the raised portion of the embossed paper.  The image from Art Kure is actually stamped twice, colored with the Spectrum Aqua pens twice, then fussy cut out.  I then layered one set on top of the other set after slightly tolling the edges of the top image.  It's very dimensional, but did photograph that way.  I used a sentiment stamp from a Bebunni set to say just what I needed it to say.  Some ribbon, feathers, butterflies and sequins finish it off.

Here are the Crafter's Companion supplies I used:

Stamps - Bebunni Bloom & Grow
Art Kure - Pansies
Textures embossing folder - Hessian
Spectrum Aqua Pens - wild flower, red violet, gold, bud green, moss, lime
Spectrum Sparkle pen - crystal clear

I will be entering this into some challenges:

Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes
The Paper Girls Challenge - mixed media
Incy Wincy Design - favorite coloring medium
Love to Scrap - big bow theory
Crafting by Design - anything goes
Stamping Sensations - one for the girls

Happy Tuesday - enjoy your day!

"Love" - Crafter's Companion

Hello crafty people out there in blogland... I'm up and at 'em in my craft room this morning and looking for my inspiration.  Anyone have some extra they want to send my way?

In the mean time, I thought I would post a card I made for Crafter's Companion.  This was a fun one to make as I love working with these wonderful Kimono stamps.  I used my Spectrum Aqua Markers to color her, and used some Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to create the dotted background behind her.  I think it highlighted her nicely.

My entire list of supplies and links are listed here:

Stamps - Kimona Stamp - Lotus Flower
Crafter's Companion shimmering cardstock in rose and coast
Spectrum Aqua markers - Teal, marine, begonia, spice, peach, scarlet
Spectrum Noir pens - IG1, IG2, IG3

Decorated Frame - Crafter's Companion

I have a quick tutorial over on the Crafter's Companion website showing the details on how I created this cute little frame for my office.  I love taking things I find in bargain bins or thrift stores and giving them new life.  I loved the color of this frame when I found it, but it had some dingy quote on it that was totally inappropriate for the picture... So, a little craft paper, some great Crafter's Companion products and an hour later and bam!  A new frame ready to display a pic of my adorable granddaughter.

Go check out the website to see how to create one yourself!

I think I'll enter this into a challenge or two.

Believe Canvas - Crafter's Companion

Back today to share another make for Crafter's Companion - this one an altered canvas.  I want to make three of these to go on my wall, all with the same style and feel to them.  So, this is the first, with more to come.

I created the background using some tissue paper, and my Gelatos, then some whipped spackle for texture.  The stamps on the background are Crafter's Companion from Stamp It Australia - Dreamer Take Flight.  The flowers are from Crafter's Companion Sheena Perfect Partners Victoria Floral Bluebell with the matching die cutting set.  I colored them with my Spectrum Aqua markers in meadow, moss, bud green, teal, peacock blue and wildflower.  I also used them to color the wooden word "believe".  They did an amazing job on the wood!  I then highlighted the edges with the Spectrum Sparkle crystal clear pen.

I love the way the flowers stand out from the background and are so vibrant.  I think that I'll carry that theme through with the other projects in the set.

I will enter this project into the following challenges:

Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Crafting By Design - anything goes
That Craft Place Challenge - anything goes
Stamping Sensations - anything goes
A Bit More Time to Craft - anything goes

Thanks for joining in today!

Say Cheese --- House Mouse

Wow - two posts in one day... what the heck?  Wanted to toss out another quick one before I call it quits for the day.  This is a simple card I made using the House Mouse stamp called Say Cheese.  I colored him with my Spectrum Aqua markers then used some of the Spectrum Noir's to add a few shadows.  I kept the design very simple, just using grey as a neutral and the shades of coral to highlight the little guy.  I love the stitch designs from the Lawn Fawn die cuts that add a textural touch.

This card is entered in a few challenges:

House Mouse & Friends - Zodiac or anything goes
Fab 'n' Funky - buttons or bows
Love to Scrap - anything goes

Hope to see ya again soon!

Hugs,
Jodi

Surprise! Penny Black

Back again today with a cute little card I made using a Penny Black stamp called So Kind.  It's a cute little image that could be used for just about any occasion.  I love how sweet it is.  I colored it using my Spetrum Aqua markers and a paint brush dipped in water for an easy water colored look.  I used a new die cut set I just got from Spellbinders called Oval Regalia to frame the image and the sentiment which is also from Penny Black's set called Heartfelt.

I think this card deserves a challenge or two...

Fab 'n' Funky - buttons or bows
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
A Bit More Time to Craft - anything goes
Penny Black & More - one for the girls

Thanks for the look-see today!

Bonjour - Crafter's Companion

I'm back again with another make for Crafter's Companion.  This one is a simple card created with a wonderful image from Sheena Douglas - A Little Bit Scenic called 50's French Cafe.  The set is loaded with fun images surrounding this cafe spot... I think next time I'll build a full scene.

I colored it with my Spectrum Aqua watercolor pens (Fawn, Bud Green, Sea Green, Aquamarine, Evergreen, Desert, Slate, Blossom, Spice, Terracotta, Chestnut, Burgundy, Navy, Chocolate, Charcoal, Peacock Blue) There is so much freedom in letting the water and ink mix and make the shadows and textures for you.  I think I could easily become addicted to watercolor painting.  It's very artistic and therapeutic.

Think this card deserves a challenge or two...

Fab n Funky - something new - new stamp set
Crafting by Design - anything goes
The Paper Girls Challenge - home and family

I'll be back soon with another make...  until then....

Jodi

Let it Snow - globe

I'm back today to share a fun little make I gave to a very special friend this year.  It's a snow globe shaker card!  I think it turned out amazing.  Fun story - I made this while my friend Torrey was visiting me and she and I both made shaker snow globes.  We didn't plan it that way, but when we are together our tojomojo is undeniable!  We just started the projects and then realized we were both working on globe shakers... Haha!  If you want to check her's out, go to Left Field Studio - although hers puts mine to shame.

I used a stamp from Crafter's Companion - and unfortunately, it is no longer available.  But I love it!  I colored it up on Spectrum Aqua water colored paper using the Spectrum Aqua markers.  I used a free clip art image from the web as a template for my globe (Torrey had picked the same one without knowing...).  I added lots of glitter, some snowflake punches and fake snow inside the shaker.  I finished if with a Lawn Fawn die cut sentiment, some more punched snowflakes and pearls.  Cute, huh?

This is definitely going into some challenges:

Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes

Merry Christmas!

Joy - Crafter's Companion

Good morning from beautiful Colorado!  It's getting close to Christmas and I am finally feeling kinda ready for it.  How about you?

I will be sharing quite a few last minute Christmas card makes this week starting with this adorable one using another fun stamp from Crafter's Companion.  The stamp is from Barkley and is called Christmas Festive Fun.  I stamped him on Spectrum Noir watercolor paper, then used the Spectrum Aqua markers to add some color to the image.  I then put some of the Spectrum Sparkle Crystal Clear ink over the top of the snow scene to give it extra sparkle and shine.  I also added some extra glitter along the bottom.  It turned out very festive and fun.  I love using non-traditional colors for Christmas!

Here's the list of Crafter's Companion products I used:
Spectrum Aqua Markers - burgundy, begonia, wildflower, tan, boulder, charcoal, moss, peacock blue.
Spectrum Sparkles - Crystal clear

"Every Tree" Crafter's Companion

Taking a quick break from all the Christmas cards to show off this pretty card I made for Crafter's Companion using my Spectrum Aqua's in a little different way.  I applied them directly to this beautiful stamp from Sheena Douglas's "As Scene on Screen" set called "Wouldn't it be lovely".  After stamping it on the Spectrum watercolor paper, I used a brush dipped in water to lightly spread the ink around a bit giving it the water colored look but still having the strong lines of design from the stamp.  I love this technique!

I also used another stamp from Sheena Douglas from her "A Little Bit Scenic" sets called "Silhouette Grasses" for the sentiment.  I fussy cut around part of the stamp area, then finished off the oval shape to create the framed window affect.  Adding a few layers of cardstock and a pretty ribbon and bow completed the look.

My Crafter's Companion supplies were:

Spectrum Aquas - Leaf green, Spice, Desert, Marigold, ScarletStamp - Sheena Douglass - As Scene on Screen, Wouldn't it be lovely and A Little Bit Scenic, Silhouette Grasses
Spectrum Aqua water color paper

This card will be put in some challenges just for grins!

Noel - Crafter's Companion

Hey there crafty-peeps.  Back again today with another card for Crafter's Companion.  This one features the adorable stamp from Makey Bakey called Christmas Carols.  I think their mice are just adorable!  I used my Spectrum Aqua markers to keep the colors muted and give this an old fashion look.  Gotta tell ya, I am loving these markers more and more each time I use them.  They are so versatile!  I make sure and use the Spectrum Noir water color paper with them - it definitely makes a difference in how things come out.  I also used some Distress Inks on the edges to help with the aged look.  The patterned papers made it easy to finish off this cute Christmas card.

My Crafter's Companion supplies are listed below:

Makey Bakey - Christmas Carols

Spectrum Noir water color paper

Spectrum Aqua's - Tan, Slate, Black, Peach, Desert, Fawn, Burgandy

Delight in Life - Crafter's Companion

Stopping by today to share with you a card I made for Crafter's Companion.  This one turned out so elegant!  I love the dimension and the colors.

I created the background using some Tim Holtz tissue paper and some distress inks - then used some fluid acrylic paint to add all the shimmer of gold.  The image stamp is from Crafter's Companion - the Sheena Perfect Partners Blue Bell set.  I used the matching Blue Bell die cut set to cut it all out after I colored them with my Spectrum Aqua markers.  The set comes with two different flower types and two different leaf types.  Great bang for the buck if you ask me!

I also used the Embossalicious Chevron embossing folder from Crafter's Companion for the element behind the flowers.  Finished it off with a sentiment stamp and pretty organza ribbon.

The Spectrum Aqua colors I used were leaf green, lime, sunflower, yellow, meadow, olive, gold, and moss.

This card is entered in some challenges:

Crafty Catz - sparkle and shine

Birthday House Mouse

I have been making a ton of Christmas cards lately... love doing them, but there was something so freeing about working on this adorable House Mouse image today - and to top it off, their current challenge is "Rainbow Colors" - So, I got to play with tons of color as well.  I used my Crafter's Companion Spectrum Aqua's to color the image that is called "Candle & Jellie Beans".  It went so quickly because of these wonderful water markers.  Then I framed it with a Spellbinders die and lots of colorful patterned paper.  In fact, I have five different patterned papers on there!  Not too bad...

I will be throwing my hat in the ring over at the House Mouse challenge:

House Mouse - Rainbow Colors

Thanks for stopping in today.

Just popping in to share another make I created with the Crafter's Companion stamps from wonderful the Kimono set called Porcelain.  I used the amazing Spectrum Aqua markers to color the stamp as well as watercolor the punched background.  I found a sentiment stamp from the Bebunni Floral set called Sweet Friend. that fit the card perfectly.  Distress Ink was added to the edges for a little dimension.

The colors of Aqua Markers I colored with were:  Blossom, Begonia, Peach, Lime, Fawn, Topaz, Jasmine, Dessert, Sea Green, and Black.  The ink colors were Wild Honey and Scattered Straw.

I think I'll add this card to the following challenges:

Live in the Moment

I am a little late with this one... the weekend kind of got away from me.  But I wanted to post a new card today that I created while Torrey was here playing.  It was one of my first cards using the Crafter's Companion Spectrum Aqua markers.  I gotta tell ya, these are fast becoming one of my favorite colorants in my craft room.  The more I use them, the more I just love them.  They are so easy and diverse... My only gripe, I want more colors - haha!  I would buy them all for sure.

I used a very versatile stamp set from Crafter's Companion designed by Sheena Douglass called "A little Bit Scenic".  It's all silhouette stamps and so clean and great for the water colored background.  The sentiment is from the same set.

I used the Peacock Blue, Bud Green and King Fisher colors of Spectrum Aquas to create the background.

I'll toss this into the following challenges:

Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Love to Scrap - anything goes

Thanks for dropping in.

Jodi

With Love - some watercolor fun

It has been such a fun week playing with my new stash from Crafter's Companion.  I am enjoying the Spectrum Aqua Markers so much!

For this card I used the aqua markers to color directly onto the stamp (Sheena - As Seen On Screen - Wouldn't it be Lovely 1).  I then put a tad bit of water on a small brush and applied it to the stamped image to spread the color slightly.  I love how easy this makes a watercolored look.  After that, I used the fine line side of the markers to add some of the detail back into the image.  Such an easy technique for such an artistic look.

Make sure you head over to the Crafter's Companion website and check out the wonderful birthday sales they have going this week - lots of great things to celebrate 10 years for the UK business.

Love to enter this card in the following challenges:

Fussy and Fancy Friday - flowers
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes

Thanks for stopping by - hoping your week is delightful!

Hugs,
Jodi
