Just for me... Create With TLC card
CYP #91 - Anything Goes + Distressing - Paper Shelter
Happy New Year! I hope everyone out there had a wonderful holiday season and I hope 2012 is your best year ever!
The weeks are flying by and we are on to another challenge already at Craft Your Passion. This week is our "anything goes" plus distressing challenge. We have several great sponsors including the Paper Shelter.
I got a chance to work with this delightful image of a beautiful ballerina. I found these wonderful papers that I thought would go terrifically with the serene feeling of the image. I colored her with my Copics and then added some glitter to her skirt. Then I fussy cut her out and placed her on the handstitched oval frame.
I punched the scallop border, added a bubbly bow that I had died to match and some cut-out flowers from the same design papers. Everything got a layer of stippled distress antique ink to give it an aged feel and add the distressed touch.
I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Make it Monday -#70 - Linky party
Paper Creations Ink - #16 - Die cuts / punches
Paper Sundaes #101 - Something old and something new (new image, old papers, distress ink)
One Stitch at a Time - #94 - Use a digi
Card Crafter's Circle - #3 - Anything goes
The Paper Shelter - Tie a bow
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your week...

My favorite Mo design this year

One of my all time favorite stamp designers is Mo Manning. She never ceases to amaze me with her talent. Her images are so easy to use, adapt and create for any occasion. When I wanted to enter a Copic contest, I knew I had to use some of Mo's images for my project. (By the way, it got me on the Copic Marker Scrapbooking design team! :)Once I saw all three of these ragamuffin carolers, I knew that would be my base. Adding the simple lamp post was a must. I enjoyed coloring these images a ton and love the way they came out.
I fussy cut each image so I could place them on this glittered music background paper. There are many layers of hand stitched patterned paper, cheesecloth, doilies, ribbon and some poinsettia flowers. I added some mini pine cones, stick pens, holly leaves and a small sentiment in the corner. This is all built on a wooden background that has a stand. It became a decorative present for my parents for Christmas.
I will be entering this project in the following challenges:
Mo's Digital Challenge #115 - 2011 Favorite Mo Project
Card Crafter's Circle #3 - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Incy Wincy Designs #126 - Winter Wonderland
Paper Sundaes #100 - Celebrate
Thanks for stopping by - I hope this next year brings you all the joy and happiness you can handle!
Happy New Year!

CYP Challenge #88 - Tag Your It - Stretch and Bubbles
When I saw this adorable image from Stretch and Bubbles, I knew exactly what sentiment I wanted to add to it...it's it just the perfect match? Yea, I thought so too.Over at Craft Your Passion, our challenge this week is "Tag Your It"... Easy peasy, huh? All you have to do is create a tag, or add a tag, or ... anything with a tag. We've got some great prizes from Stretch and Bubbles and an opportunity to show off your creative ventures...
For this one, I colored her with my Copics to match this great new paper I found from Michaels (I think it was a Reflection's pack to be exact). I created the frame out of small strips of the striped paper (which was my favorite), add some other DP's, the sentiment, a small tag, and a bubbly organza bow... It was done and ready to be sent.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
One Stitch at a Time - #92 - Use a digi
Make it Monday - #67 - Linky party
Joyful Stamper Inspire me Friday - #36 - Link party
Whoopsi Daisy - Sparkle and shine
Paper Sundaes - #99 - Anything Goes
Have a great week!!!

CYP 87 - Anything Goes + Glitter - Pixie Cottage

Craft Your Passion has an easy one going on this week. The challenge is Anything Goes with glitter! I'll be honest, when I went to make this card with this relaxing scene from Pixie Cottage I forgot I was supposed to use glitter on it... So, I pulled out my trusty micro glitter pen (love that thing) and went crazy. My end result turned out better than I had hoped. I love the way it covered on my Copics and turned ordinary things into metalic looking chairs and table. I edged just about all the papers with it as well. The flowers are a Cricut die cut from the Flower Shoppe cartridge... so easy to make to match all the papers! The papers were from Die Cuts With A View and I really have no idea who the sentiment stamp is from. It just screamed easel card since the chairs and table need to stand - LOL. CYP 86 - Tis the Season - Simply Betty

I love the adorable images over at Simply Betty Stamps - so creating a card this week for our challenge at Craft Your Passion Challenges was such a pleasure... This cutie was a breeze to color in red and turquoise Copics... I accented her with an off colored yellow/green and white as a neutral to really make her pop. I added some hand stitching and some snowflakes cut from a Winter Wonderland Cricut cartridge. The sentiment was also from a holiday Cricut cartridge. I love the color combination and finding some great Die Cuts with a View printed papers that matched was easy with all their wonderful paper packs. Our challenge is great to get a jump start on those X-mas cards you all need to make... So, come show us what you can do. You might get a chance to win some fun new digi's from Simply Betty!

CYP Challenge #85 - Doodle Pantry
Our challenge at Craft Your Passion this week is a fall theme picture inspiration... Using this adorable image from Doodle Pantry fit the inspiration even before I started coloring... I picked some design papers that didn't have a lot of orange in them, which really made the image pop. I added the bubbly sheer bow to help tie it all together...Come join our challenge this week - I'd love to see what you can come up with!

Delicious Doodles - #6 - Remembrance
I was so excited to have a day to spend with my parents yesterday - having them live close by is such a blessing - and one I take for granted too often. I had the pleasure of spending the day working with my daddy on teaching him how to restore some old photos and crafting with my mommy...making cards together. What an awesome way to spend a day... They both mean so much to me and I am very honored to have them as my parents. This is the card I made while playing in mom's craft room. I love these images from Teri (over at Delicious Doodles Shop). Her sketching ability is amazing and I am so jealous of her talents. Our challenge at Delicious Doodles Challenges this week is "Remembrance". I think these images go together so nicely and made for a lovely sympathy card for my stash. I colored them very lightly with chalk, just to give the hint of color... added some great paper from my stash (no clue who makes it), some ribbon and a simple sympathy stamp I recently got from the $1 bin.
Pop on over to the site for some inspiration by our design team - they've blown me away yet again! Join in the challenge for a chance to win some great images from Delicious Doodles!

CYP #77 - Color Combo - Lauretta's Digis

Our challenge this week at Craft Your Passion is all about the color combo! The original colors are brighter than my choices, but that's because the bright green, yellow and black didn't suit my image. I chose to use lighter tones of them to help set the mood on this simple and sweet card. The image is from Lauretta's Digital Stamps. I brushed in a light cloud background, colored her with my Copics and added some shimmer paint to her wings. The shape is cut from a Cricut cartridge and the sentiment banner is hand drawn. I finished it with a bubbly yellow bow! Simple but beautiful!Monday, September 12, 2011

Favorite Things

I found both this stamp and the sentiment in the dollar bin from Studio G (Hampton Arts) and was excited to make this cheery and cute card to send to my bestee. Although it's small and the coloring couldn't be very detailed, I still love the way it came out. The paper is one of my new favorites from DCWV - georgeous colors and richness! I used my Cricut to cut the frame, then handstitched around it and the base. The flower is just looped ribbon sewed together with a large green button in the middle. I liked the way this one came out!
