B-Line Designs / Shabby Chic

Another amazingly cute image from B-Line Designs inspired this wonderfully feminine and shabby chic card. I loved coloring her with my Copics and popping her up on a double image. I added handstitching around all the paper edges, then curled them slightly to add to the shabby vintage feel of the image. I added some lace and pearls on top of a sheer ribbon, then tied a bubbly bow to frame the collage of roses/blooms. A few more pearls and a small sentiment finished the look.

I will be linking this card to the following challenges:

A Spoon Full of Sugar - challenge 154 - Flower Power

You are a Classic - B Line Designs

Inspiration comes to me in the strangest ways sometimes. Yesterday it was in the shower!

I've been playing a bunch with glimmer powders and mists, but using them mostly in spray bottles. On this card I wanted only the portions of the stamped image to have a metallic look of a car. I didn't want the all over coverage that misting gives it. I stamped the B-Line Design image, colored it with my Copics and then used a new mixture I made for the final result. I added a little cheap hairspray, water and silver shimmering powder to a small jar then painted it on to the sections of the image I wanted shimmering! It worked great!

I would like to enter the following challenges with this card:

The Sweet Stop - Make it Masculine - SSS109

Catch the Bug Challenge Blog - Grads Dads and Other Celebrations

Stamp Something - Color challenge using beach colors

B-Line Designs - Color Throw Down 141

I adore working with B Line Designs stamps... They have such detail and interesting subject matter. I used this wonderful image to create a romantic card using the colors from the current challenge at Color Throw Down. First I stamped the image on a light yellow paper and a rose colored paper. I embossed both images to give them a dark and rich tone. I cut out just the dress from the rose paper and added it to the lighter image. Then I silhouette cut out the entire thing to put it on a little bit darker yellow. All of the papers are from My Minds Eye. I added what I thought was a clear glaze pen to the mirror, but turned out to be a white glaze pen. Happy accidents since I ended up liking the way it highlighted the mirror. I used a scallop punch for the aqua colored accent, added a paper pieced sentiment stamped from Hampton Arts, a little ribbon and hand stitched the edges of everything. Not too fancy, but very dramatic in it's colors and ambiance. Voila!

More fun with Zentangles®...

I tried a few new Zentangles® the other day, starting with stamps and working outward. I am coming to realize in my exploration of this new art that I really like the more organic shapes and freedom of not working only within spaces... It feels more "doodly" if that's really a word. I am enjoying trying something new... and true to the art... am starting to see patterns in my everyday world that I want to incorporate. It's all been so fun to explore!

CCCB Week 18 and Another B-Line Design Card

Here's another great image from B-Line Designs... I just love the sassy feel of this "On the Run" stamp. I added some fun patterned paper from Die Cuts W/ A View and this card came together easily. I also added touches of glitter to both the patterned paper and the Copic-colored stamped image to give it the bling factor. It has a very Euro-feel to it, don't you think?

2s4y Sketch 58 - Krafty Thursday Spotted Chick - B-Line Designs

As soon as I saw this stamp from B-Line Designs, I knew I had to do a "support" card... I love love love the designs that Bev comes up with for her stamps. They are so unique and original and just right down my alley.... Vintage! I adore the way this one came out... So fun!

The sketch is from 2s4y - at least it's my loose interpretation of it... and it's also for the Krafty Thursday over at one of my favorite blogs, The Spotted Chick. Check my links at the left to find either of those blogs for more eye candy!
I am not sure who the patterned pink paper is from, although my guess is it's an old piece from Provo Craft. The brown dotted paper is My Mind's Eye. The rest is just cardstock, lots of distressing and stippling with sepia ink and some ribbon from Creative Impressions.

Thanks for stopping by... Enjoy your Friday!
