O-Fish-Ally Awesome!

Swimming by today to share this cute little make using the set called "Fintastic Friends" from Lawn Fawn, colored with my Copics.  The sentiment is from the "Dad + Me" set from Lawn Fawn as well.  The papers are from My Minds Eye and the finishing touch was a patterned ribbon from Hobby Lobby.

Have a happy day!

Another one for Crissy's DT

Is this like the most adorable image ever? I think so! I have used him several times now and just love how playful he is. Makes me want to go scratch his little fury belly!

I played with my Copics until I got the fury detail I like on him then cut him out so I could pop him off my background (another Crissy stamp by the way). I can hear the howling now! I decided he didn't need a lot of embellishment since he was just so cute. So, I added a few little notes cut out from my Cricut, a little bakers twine and the cut borders to finish it off. I also used some vintage ink stippled on to tone it all down and give it a more cohesive feel. I just love the way it turned out!

I would like to enter thsi in the following challenges:

Crissy Armstrong - Design Team Call

Sunday's with Crissy - Distressing

Sweet Sunday - Sketch SSSC127

Charisma Cards - #30 - Legged Friends

Sr. Stampalot - July - Anything Goes

Pile it On - #30 - Fun in the Sun

Thanks for stoppy by!

Thanks to Angie

My crafting time this week has been very limited - fighting off some vertigo and that hasn't allowed me to spend too much time doing what I love to do... But yesterday I had to sit down and make a card for my dear neighbor who has been such a sweetie this week. She has amazing knowledge and has been so kind as to share some of it with my hubby and I. She's also been giving me some acupuncture to help with the vertigo. Walking around with needles in my head seems to help...LOL Anyway, I wanted to do a card to say thanks and keep it simple and elegant. The stamps are from Stampendous, colored with my Copics, the paper from My Minds Eye. Added some bakers twine, stitching and destressed edges... That's about it!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Craft Your Passion - #65 - Anything goes

Make it Monday - #44 - Linky party

Paper Sundaes - #76 - Stitching

Happy 4th of July - God bless you!

Paper Shelter Design Team Call

I had such fun working with this digi from Paper Shelter. It was just too cute and I knew it would be a great card for that special friend's birthday that is just around the corner. I printed it several times and colored it with my Copics. I started with a base, then cut segments that were each tolled and added on top of it to give quite a bit of demension to the image. I hope you can see that in the pics a little bit. The papers are from My Minds Eye. I made this into an easle card because I didn't want to distract from the focal image with the sentiment. The flowers are handmade using a couple of simple cuts from my Cricut. I distressed all of the edges and handstitched to give it a finishing touch. I really like the way it turned out...

I am excited to submit this card to the Paper Shelter design team call! It would be a thrill and honor to be considered for this team.

B-Line Designs - Color Throw Down 141

I adore working with B Line Designs stamps... They have such detail and interesting subject matter. I used this wonderful image to create a romantic card using the colors from the current challenge at Color Throw Down. First I stamped the image on a light yellow paper and a rose colored paper. I embossed both images to give them a dark and rich tone. I cut out just the dress from the rose paper and added it to the lighter image. Then I silhouette cut out the entire thing to put it on a little bit darker yellow. All of the papers are from My Minds Eye. I added what I thought was a clear glaze pen to the mirror, but turned out to be a white glaze pen. Happy accidents since I ended up liking the way it highlighted the mirror. I used a scallop punch for the aqua colored accent, added a paper pieced sentiment stamped from Hampton Arts, a little ribbon and hand stitched the edges of everything. Not too fancy, but very dramatic in it's colors and ambiance. Voila!

Old Fashion Santa

I have been very bad about keeping my blog up to date... Thanks Torrey for inspiring me to get back to it.
With volleyball in full swing, it's been tough to find creative time, but thanks to my mom and sisters, I got to spend three days creating with them. It was a great retreat and a wonderful way to get back into my creative frame of mind... Thanks ladies, love ya!

So, here's one that may turn out to be my Christmas card this year. For months I have noticed this stamp and loved it, but never actually put it in my cart. Well, the weekend retreat inspired me to buy it and this is what I came up with. A simple card with an old-fashioned flair.

The santa is colored with chalks and a white gel pen. I also added some glitter to the snow flakes and used a gold glitter pen on his glasses. The paper is My Minds Eye, glittered cardstock and regular cardstock. I ran some of it through a CuttleBug embossing folder and added lots of stippled sepia ink to tone it down and give it more of the old-fashion feel. I love the way it turned out!

TPE Sketch - Stamping Bella

A simple sketch from The Pink Elephant was the jump-start for these cards. I used a cut from a new Cricut cartridge for the frame and some wonderful papers that were a "freebie" from My Minds Eye in one of the latest card magazine packages. Liked the first one so much, I decided to duplicate it for a few other occassions I needed to send cards for this week. Fun, bright, happy and easy! What more could you ask for?

Card Patterns Sketch 77 - Copic

I fell in love with this line of stamps for a couple of reasons... First, I grew up with HollyHobby and these have the same sweet feel and look to them. Second, I couldn't wait to start filling in all the wonderful details with my Copics - they just seem perfect for this medium. Third, the name... Sarah Kay is the name of my sweet baby-girl who has been with the Lord for a while now. I had to buy several of them, and don't tell my hubby but I've already put a couple of bids on a few more on Ebay. =)
I made this card to send to the wonder and gracious people at Copic. I used the Card Patterns Sketch 77 to design it. A little hand stitching adds some detail. The buttons and ribbon are from my stash, with no clue who to credit them to. The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye. Just a happy little card with such an adorable image.

2s4y Sketch 58 - Krafty Thursday Spotted Chick - B-Line Designs

As soon as I saw this stamp from B-Line Designs, I knew I had to do a "support" card... I love love love the designs that Bev comes up with for her stamps. They are so unique and original and just right down my alley.... Vintage! I adore the way this one came out... So fun!

The sketch is from 2s4y - at least it's my loose interpretation of it... and it's also for the Krafty Thursday over at one of my favorite blogs, The Spotted Chick. Check my links at the left to find either of those blogs for more eye candy!
I am not sure who the patterned pink paper is from, although my guess is it's an old piece from Provo Craft. The brown dotted paper is My Mind's Eye. The rest is just cardstock, lots of distressing and stippling with sepia ink and some ribbon from Creative Impressions.

Thanks for stopping by... Enjoy your Friday!

Card Patterns Sketch 70

This is my second contest entry... feeling rather bold today, I guess. This one is for Card Patterns - Sketch 70. It's definitely a literal interpretation of the sketch and it came together rather easy. Can't wait to give this one to the next friend who needs a good laugh!

2s4y Laura's Sketch 55

I've been "lurking" on a bunch of the contest blogs for a little while now, thinking someday I would enter one of them... Today is someday!
This card was inspired by Laura's sketch 55 on 2sketches4you. I had fun adapting and working with a sketch, trying my hand at making it my own. I hope I wasn't too liberal in my interpretation of the sketch. All in all, I came up with a card I really like - and that's what matters, right?

Sympathy

It's been my week to make sympathy cards (unfortunately). I've mass produced both of these designs to send to family and friends affected by several deaths that have hit too close to home.
I am happy with the way these have turned out and enjoyed playing with the softer, more muted side of color. I hope they provide a little comfort to those with hurting souls.
