CYP 97 - Recipe Challenge - Delicious Doodles

Our challenge this week over at Craft Your Passion is a recipe challenge and we are sponsored by one of my all time favorite digital stamp designers - Delicious Doodles! I absolutely fell in love with this image (I am NOT goth) when Teri recently released it to us - it screams teenage angst! And with a 15 year old girl in my house, teenage angst is something I know more about than I really want to know.

The recipe this time around is 1 ribbon, 2 design papers, and at least 3 buttons. I used the green printed background paper, along with a fun splotchy one from DCWV. Then layered the image digitally on top of another set of stamps from Make it Crafty - the brick wall. I colored that with my Copics, then put some netting and lace behind the image. I added the cord (my interpretation of ribbon) to hang the cross on and cut the shanks off of some black bubble buttons to accent the corners. The title was printed on white cardstock, colored with my Copics and then cut out. I am very happy with the final results on this one!

Jump on over to Craft Your Passion Challenges for more inspiration from our design team - then get your fingers inky, your scissors sharp and get to work... We would love to see what you can do with our recipe!

Copic Marker Scrapbooking - Mythology Release

Copic Marker Scrapbooking has done it again! Tonight a new line of stamps is being released unlike any I've ever worked with before. This set is illustrated by Guy Gondron and captures the true look and feel of many different mythology characters. I found these both challenging and amazing to work with... I loved coloring them with my Copics! They made me stretch my normal coloring techniques and truly work with the colors I have. I am thrilled to showcase just a few of them here on my blog, but you really should hop over to Making Our Mark and check out all of the AMAZING projects our design team created. I am honored to be among these talented and true artists!

You can find all of these stamps and may more in this set over at Making Our Mark. Plus a FREEBIE over there - all thanks to the talents of Guy Gondron.

CYP #90 - Sketch

Craft Your Passion has a sketch challenge going this week - check out the great sketch! We got a chance to pick our own image this time around and I couldn't wait to work on this adorable one from Mo Manning... Isn't she just the cutest? A coworker was moving and I offered to make a card for everyone to sign and this image was just perfect for it! I love the way the card turned out!

I used my Copics for coloring, the sketch for design, some Basic Grey design papers for the background, my Cricut to cut the spiral flowers and mat, gems to put in the center of the flowers, some Creative Impressions silk ribbon for a bubbly bow and made some fun stick pens out of some jewelry making supplies I had around. The sentiment is a Studio G stamp from the dollar bin at my local craft store.

I hope you join us at Craft Your Passion - the sketch is such a great one this time around and I would love to see your interpretation of it!

CYP #79 - All Occassion - Guylou

We've got a fun challenge going on over at Craft Your Passion - just make an "All Occassion" type card and come join the fun. Our sponsor is Guylou and they've got some great images to work with over there. Go here and check them out...

I'm trying my hand at Prisma's on kraft colored paper... I always like to try out new things and challenge myself to learn new techniques. I've got a lot of work to do to get where I want to be with this method, but I like the way this one turned out.

I added some fun paper from my scrap bin (sorry, don't know who's paper it is)... Then a piece of kraft that I ran through an embossing folder. The sentiment is one from Hampton Arts. I finished it off with a bubbly bow and added some bling pearls to dress it up a touch.

I would love for you to join our challenge - there's always a chance to win and ya gotta love that.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

The Secret Crafter #155 - Antyhing Goes + Sparkle
The Ribbon Carousel #23 - Anything Goes
DYSU #40 - Using Brown
Crafts and Me #55 - Use a Digi

Craft Your Passion - #70 - Under the Sea

I can't believe I let this entire week slide by without a post - It's been a crazy one, that' s for sure.

I am excited to share with you this just released image from Simply Betty. Isn't she just the cutest? I've been working hard on my Copic techniques and love the way this one came out. I learned the background bubble technique just this last weekend when I took an online class from Making Our Mark. Great class and wonderful techniques shared! I wanted to keep it simple so that the amazing image was really showcased. So, all I did was add it to a scalloped card base that was covered with cardstock, added a sweet ribbon and bow, a quick sentiment and then came the bling! I kinda went crazy with the bling, but I think it worked!

Come join us this week over at Craft Your Passion Challenges. Our challenge this week is "Under the Sea" and I would love it if you would come share your talents with us.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Happy Anniversary Honey!

When I sat down to make a card for my husband for our 21st anniversary, I knew I wanted to use the adorable images from Crissy Armstrong. I thought they were perfect since I really fell madly in love with Tom the night he first kissed me. No matter how long ago it was, I will alway remember the tender moment when he softly touched my lips... Wow, that's about as mushy as it gets, huh? I really am blessed though, and thank my Lord every day for bringing this wonderful man into my life.

The second thing I wanted to do with this one was work on my coloring. I am a "self taught" Copics user and I have a tendency to be heavy handed with my coloring - I put down a lot of ink when I use my Copics, and haven't really mastered the art of using white space as highlights. So, I decided to color these as a sepia image, only allowing myself three colors of brown and one skin tone. (Ok, in the end I also used blue on her eyes and red on her lips, but they don't really count). I wanted to really work on the shading techniques and work with white space! I think it turned out kinda fun and this gave it a very vintage feel to it. All in all, I liked the way it turned out and might have to try that excersise again sometime.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crissy Armstrong's - DT Call

Sunday's with Crissy - July - Distressing

Paper Shelter - #24 - Anything Goes

I've got more to post - I'll be back soon!

Thanks a Bunch

This was a fun card I put together just to have in my stash... I always like to have some on hand to use when I don't have time to make one for a special occassion. I loved this set of stamps from Stampendous, so versitile. I stamped it several times, colored them each with my Copics, then cut sections apart, tolled them and stacked them back together. Although it might not show in the photos, some areas are as high as four layers. I think it has a great rustic and country feel to it, accented by the pinkyshear border and yellow stitching.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Paper Play - #28 - Things with Wings

Crafts and Me - #43 - Summer Time

Have a great Sunday!
