Copic Marker Scrapbooking - Mythology Release

Copic Marker Scrapbooking has done it again! Tonight a new line of stamps is being released unlike any I've ever worked with before. This set is illustrated by Guy Gondron and captures the true look and feel of many different mythology characters. I found these both challenging and amazing to work with... I loved coloring them with my Copics! They made me stretch my normal coloring techniques and truly work with the colors I have. I am thrilled to showcase just a few of them here on my blog, but you really should hop over to Making Our Mark and check out all of the AMAZING projects our design team created. I am honored to be among these talented and true artists!

You can find all of these stamps and may more in this set over at Making Our Mark. Plus a FREEBIE over there - all thanks to the talents of Guy Gondron.

CYP #90 - Sketch

Craft Your Passion has a sketch challenge going this week - check out the great sketch! We got a chance to pick our own image this time around and I couldn't wait to work on this adorable one from Mo Manning... Isn't she just the cutest? A coworker was moving and I offered to make a card for everyone to sign and this image was just perfect for it! I love the way the card turned out!

I used my Copics for coloring, the sketch for design, some Basic Grey design papers for the background, my Cricut to cut the spiral flowers and mat, gems to put in the center of the flowers, some Creative Impressions silk ribbon for a bubbly bow and made some fun stick pens out of some jewelry making supplies I had around. The sentiment is a Studio G stamp from the dollar bin at my local craft store.

I hope you join us at Craft Your Passion - the sketch is such a great one this time around and I would love to see your interpretation of it!

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

The Pixie Cottage - #101 - Someone special

A Dicken's Christmas stamp release - Copic Marker Scrapbooking

Over at Copic Marker Scrapbooking, the amazing and talented Guy Gondron is back with an awesome set of Christmas stamps. A Dicken's Christmas set includes a bunch of wonderfully illustrated images from this tale's of Christmas, past, present, future. Head over to Making Our Mark blog to see the design team's take on the images, plus you can even pick one of them up for FREE to wish you a Merry Christmas from Colleen and Guy!

I went a little bit different on my cards for this one - My "Frosty" card was just a creative jolt that hit me when I looked at the image. I made the old-fashion postcard, just using some old wooden stamps I had in my collection. Then the hat was colored with, of course, my Copics. I created the sentiment and water pool just using my computer and freehand. I added some crystal lacquer to the silk ribbon on his hat and the water, postage stamp cut it out and added it to the postcard. I think it will make my favorite aunt smile when she opens it up this year!

I colored the candle/lamp image before I even knew what I wanted to do with it... Then the biblical reference of the Psalm scripture kept resonating in my head. Well, I've learned over the years that isn't just a coincidence - that's the still small voice! So, that became the sentiment for my card. A simple layout, some homemade flowers and the image all stood so beautifully on the flocked cream and white background. This too will find it's way into the hands of a loved one.

Don't forget to head over to Making Our Mark to check out the other eye candy and pick up your freebie. I know you'll need the entire set after you see the detail Guy uses on his illustrations.

CYP 86 - Tis the Season - Simply Betty

I love the adorable images over at Simply Betty Stamps - so creating a card this week for our challenge at Craft Your Passion Challenges was such a pleasure... This cutie was a breeze to color in red and turquoise Copics... I accented her with an off colored yellow/green and white as a neutral to really make her pop. I added some hand stitching and some snowflakes cut from a Winter Wonderland Cricut cartridge. The sentiment was also from a holiday Cricut cartridge. I love the color combination and finding some great Die Cuts with a View printed papers that matched was easy with all their wonderful paper packs.

Our challenge is great to get a jump start on those X-mas cards you all need to make... So, come show us what you can do. You might get a chance to win some fun new digi's from Simply Betty!

CYP 82 - Bingo Board - Bugaboo

Craft Your Passion has another great challenge and sponsor this week. We are playing Bingo! Bingo with Bugaboo! (That's kinda fun to say...LOL).

If you haven't figured out yet, I'll let you in on a secret - I love angels. So, I was so excited to find this adorable image at Bugaboo to work with this week. Isn't it just too cute?

I colored the image with my Copics then I added tons of bling - picking some glitter paper to frame the image, adding glitter to the clouds and wings, some wire wrapped around the frame and threaded with some iridescent pearl beads, then finished it off with a diagonal bubbly bow. I added just a few extra clouds cut from a second image to the frame and a couple of extra stars scattered around as well. I think it turned out just too cute!

You can find Bugaboo here and the Craft Your Passion Challenge here. I would love to see what you can come up with!

Catch the Bug Challenge - Guest Designer

Exciting news!!! I was asked to join the Catch the Bug Challenge design team as a guest designer this week. They have a great photo inspiration challenge going on over there - you should definitely pop over and check out the eye-candy their team put together for you.

I used this great image "Stella Witch - Call Me Witch" - it just makes me giggle. I LOVE Stella! She's my hero! Says all the things we all want to say, but are just too darn afraid to say! LOL

For this card I kept it simple - coloring her with my Copics and using some scraps as a color blocked background. I added just a touch of bling by using a sequin ribbon to the edges of the orange DP. I had this great chipboard tree from Little Yellow Bicycle that fit perfectly for a back drop for Stella.

Bugaboo will be sponsoring our next challenge at Craft Your Passion starting on Monday, so make sure and pop over there for some other great Bugaboo inspiration.

Delicious Doodles - #5 - Saintly Good vs Ghastly Evil

Over at Delicious Doodles we've got a great challenge going on... Saintly Good vs. Ghastly Evil! I knew I wanted to side with the "good", and finding an image was extremely easy for me.

I chose this great image from Teri because I instantly related to and fell in love with it. About 12 years ago my husband and I had a still born child and one of the things that got me through that was the thought that my little girl was resting with angels. This image depicts the way I like to think of her... being cared for and loved until we are once again together in heaven.

Whichever side you pick, or show both on the same card like many of our design team ladies so expertly did, come join our challenge and show us your devilish side, or your heavenly side!

CYP #81 - Crafty Sentiments - Use Kraft Paper

I can't believe another week has flown by... I've been so busy that my crafting time has taken a hit. I did enjoy having some craft time Friday night to work on this adorable image from Crafty Sentiments for our current challenge over at Craft Your Passion Challenges. It's an easy one this week - just use kraft paper on your project. Here I decided to try my hand at using my Prisma colored pencils on kraft paper again. I'm liking the results and feel like I am finally getting the hang of it a little bit. With some more practice I might actually use them more often.

So come join us at Craft Your Passion - it's a great challenge and a chance to win some fun prizes from a wonderful sponsor.

CYP #80 - Pink - Karen's Doodles

Karen's Doodles is the sponsor over at Craft Your Passion Challenges this week. I got this adorable image from them - isn't it just too cute? I colored her with my Copics, sure to use pink for our challenge supporting breast cancer awareness month. I had bought a pair of little girls jeans at our local ARC store the other day just because the embrodery on the legs was sooo cute, but when it came to this card, the pocket seemed a better fit. I added a little silver concho, some distressed patterned papers and some hand stitching to the edges. The sentiment is a Cloud 9 stamp with a simple handwritten note.

Now it's your turn - add pink to your card with two or more images and join us in the fun over at Craft Your Passion - You never know what you might win!

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Make it Monday - #59 - Linky Party

CYP #74 -Anything Goes + Flowers

Our challenge over at Craft Your Passion is an easy one this time around... Anything Goes, but our wild card this time around is "flowers"... This cute image came from Phooka and was so suited for a cute little baby card. I used some DCWV papers, added a little scalloped frame over my Copic-colored image, and a simple sentiment. The rolled flowers are cut with a Cricut cartridge, making them super easy.

Thanks for stopping by - and don't forget to join us over at Craft Your Passion Challenges!
